I am 45, post back surgery, started chasing the high of Norco (still knowing it was impossible at this point), worked myself into a long expensive habit!
I have been on 8-12 Norco per day for a few years, I have back issues and pain mgmt. gives me 120 a month. I just hit a guy up that I usually get the rest from and the way our schedules worked out we are getting refilled about the same time, so I was going to be in that all too familiar spot of "how do I manage what I have left, yet take what I need?". I had been telling him that one day when I get low or run out and he couldn't help, that was going to be the time I just quit! Well, this time, I think I am going to do it! I haven't called him again, text him again, or even made one effort to get more. I have about 50 left, and have started tapering. 1st full day I went down to 4 pills, I did it by breaking the pills in half and taking the same number of doses (8), just halves! Second day I went down to 6 halves, and basically had not had any noticeable withdraws. For some reason when I look at the pills this time they piss me off, they used to be screaming my name!! 3rd day I went to 4 half pills, and the last 2 days I have been at 3 halves. I had a little bit of achy joints and headache at night (took ambien as soon as I felt it and tried to sleep through it), very small amount of loose stool so far, and no cramps yet. 0 So far today, since 2pm yesterday and I have only taken 1 half! I will probably take 1 more half later this evening. THAT WILL MAKE 1 PILL ALL DAY WITH 50 IN THE TRUCK IN MY REACH!!!
This seriously seems way too easy! I know it cannot be this easy or everyone would do it!! Can anyone tell me if I should expect a lot more withdraws when I get to zero doses and its all gone from my system?
