So I'm getting molly from a buddy tomarrow. I've used e a lot back in early mid 2k. How much should I be getting for my $250 bucks? I would think enough to fill around 12capsules? What else should I look for? Same smell as good tabs? Thanks...

absolutely nobody here can tell you how much you're getting for $250 because prices differ from region to region.
it is impossible to tell the quality of a drug like mdma (assuming that's what you're getting) by smelling it. if you want to be sure about the presence of mdma, you need a test kit.

If you pour Anise oil over any powder, dry it then it will smell just like "good tabs"
Unfortunately these days dealers are aware that users think liquorice smell and large chunks of light brown crystal means good MDMA.
Unfortunately it tells you very little as both the smell and the large brown crystal can be faked.
As Alasdair sais you definitely need yourself a test kit.

Im confused by this.
What smell are you searching for in your tests? Is it a liquorice smell? If not what else?
Pure MDMA should not smell of anything. I've had MDMA that had the anise smell, and other batches that have not. Both tested fine, i'd assume one had more impurities than the other. Exactly the same experience with each batch.
Test kit > smell.

This! So much this. I've noticed the LESS it smells, the better the roll.
Update, met my buddy and ended up with 3 grams. It was ver big chunks of crystals about 1/4" in size and had a brownish tinge to them.
I popped open the bag and took a sniff and sure enough, just the smell I was looking for. Me and the wife desided to test drive last night. I crushed the crystalls and scooped some into the end of a straw, I estimate about .2 of a gram. It tasted kinda nasty bitter with a kinda faint salty after taste.
About 15 minutes later I kinda felt it coming on. At the 30 min mark we were both rolling balls. All swetty, hugged up with each other dancing in front of the lit christmas tree. Pretty amazing. We reupped about 2.5 hours later and man, I thought I was rolling balls off the first hit. Nothing like that second. My eyes were actually starting to frame a little. Good time for sure.
