Opioids First time IV use went for crap please help

Ok so I only has afew pills left so I thought iv use would be the best way to do until they can pickup again in the next couple of days.I Have Pms Hydromorphone 2 mg (which are round with 2 on one side and pms on the other.) Are these generic diladuids or the real deal? Then I have hydromorphcontin 18 mgs. I tried the 2 mg by putting in a spoon adding 70 cc warm water and stirring lots. Then I added some heat (tho it did not boil) put in a cig cilter then sucked it up. It was not the full 70 cc it was like 40 maybe and injected. I did not really feel anything and was wondering if I prepared it properly. I have read many posts and each one says to either heat or that they dont need to be heated. What is the proper way to prepare these for iv? Also I have somewhat of a tolerance (methadone for a year then now 3 months of doing maybe 2 or 3 2 mgs a day and a couple lines of the 18 mg)
Also is there a way to prepare the 18 mg for iv?

Hi there, few points - don't use SWIM here - it doesn't protect you at all and just makes your post hard to read. I would suggest editing it out

You should never heat a pill - opioids like hydromorphone are soluble in cold water. Heating the pill only causes nasty stuff like fillers/binders to dissolve, which can then precipitate out in your bloodstream or in your lungs, causing problems.

If you're going to IV a pill, you should really get your hands on some micron filters, otherwise talc etc from the pill can lodge in your lungs, causing a lung disease called talcosis/silicosis.. Micron filter megathread and evidence for their use

Finally, if you snort 18mg lines, you definitely don't want to shoot 18mgs all at once or you will overdose! Intranasal bioabailability is only 50-60% (see this thread) so you'd want to cut your dose in half at least - I'd start a lot lower than that and build up. Better safe than sorry, you can always add more but you can't take it away..

ahh edited thank you. I was wondering if the 2mg pills i have are genaric or name brand diladuid? I have read alot of posts statingthe generics are not water solluable and need to be heated:/ Theres just so many posts saying the opposite of each other that iamfriggin confused,

No probs Hydromorphone is hydromorphone whether it is generic or branded so if you can get it out of the pill, it will be water soluble in cold water..

ok cool. Iwill try later. I amgonna try letting it sit for a bit longer i guess. I am gonna dothe 2 mg then i am try try some crushed up hydromorph contin beads in cold water and see what happens.. Thanks

If your first IV experinece went poorly, I cannot emphasize enough that you shouldn't try again and get the idea out of your head.

It's a long, lonely road, and the tendency is to take it all the way to the end...

also when i use the cig filter do i cut the paper off around and just put the cotton part in or do i leave the filter whole and stick the whole thing on. I wastakingthe paper off and just putting inthe filter which kind of made a mess and i couldnt suck it up. gonnatry leaving it together again in a bit

you should atleast use regular cotton, if not using micron filters in the first place. If you really don't care about stuff just floating about your viens and ending up getting stuck in your lung for who knows how long, I would assume that taking the paper off would be the best way. more paper can absorb more dope your trying to get in the needle.

and if i put in say 70 units of water should i get the full 70 back? i only seem to get like 30 units back

No, you are IV'ing pills so normally I tend to get about 50-75% of how much water I put in back. Most of the binders and fillers in the pill will get left behind. Plus you heated it, which you should never do with pills as it gels it up and usually kills some of the active ingredient. Unfortunately once you use the needle, it is hard to stop so I shoot up anything that will give me a rush, so be careful. You can easily become addicted to the needle. So if you are going to be IV'ing pills, or anything for that matter, do yourself a favor and purchase a micron filter like effie said.

Nope thats mostly the gunk you dont want to be putting in your veins being left behind. Plus heating it will do that also. When I IV pills I just use lukewarm water, and I always go with 1cc because some will get left behind, and the more water, the more the active ingredient will be absorbed in some cases.
