Actually, in Canada….Diamorphine therapy DOES EXIST
Trial runs have been taking place for over 10 years now. They actually conducted a large scale experiment with severely addicted heroin users, in which pharmaceutical Diacetylmorphine (Heroin) and Hydromorphone (Dilaudid) were administered to all study participants
They could not differentiate between receiving i.v. injected Diamorphine from Hydromorphone (Dilaudid)
Injectable Dilaudid HP is more often prescribed as an alternative to Diamorphine (Heroin) which doesn’t require the stringent licensing requirements and legal roadblocks in place for Diamorphine
But currently (year 2020 +) pharmaceutical Diamorphine (Heroin) is available in Canada for the most serious of cases, patients having failed Methadone treatment numerous times, and which only injectable Diamorphine proved successful in maintaining a stable healthy lifestyle in which one could gain meaningful employment and lead productive lives and become contributing members of society.
