Opioids First time codeine use. help? :c

Hey guys, I'm new here so I'm terribly sorry if this post isn't up to scratch, or if I sound super retarded or anything.
I just wanted to see what codeine was like, only having ever smoked weed before, since I've never dabbled around with any other drugs.

So I took 30mg of codeine around an hour ago, and another 30mg half an hour ago. I know this is a pretty low dose considering what I've read a lot of people on here recommend, so I'm not really too worried about that.

I don't know what I expected, but I honestly don't feel anything other than reaaaally itchy. I haven't been able to stop scratching my scalp for ages.

So I guess I'm asking, if I take another 30mg (or 60mg?) of codeine, will I start to feel some sort of effect other than this really annoying itchiness? Anything that I can do to ease the itching?

Oh, I'm a girl and like 105lbs and 5'1 if that means anything.
Sorry if this post comes off as over-the-top paranoid about everything. I just wanted to see what it was like, and I'd rather remain on the safe side having pretty much no experience with any drugs.

The itchiness is due to histamine production...usually an antihistamine like Benadryl will help

Codeine will pretty much only give you a mild high-- kind of relaxed warm n fuzzy type. It won't f*ck you up, you are able to function normally on opiates (unless you do so much you completely nod out). Sometimes with no tolerance opiated give you a sort of energy as well....

And some people (I read like 20% but idk if accurate) don't have an enzyme in their body that changes codeine to morphine and therefore don't get any effects whatsoever. Maybe try a different opiate like Vicodin or oxy n see if that affects you better?

Heh. Kind of figured as much. I took 2 more like half an hour ago, and I just feel slightly more relaxed than normal to be honest. The itching has stopped though, which is pretty nice.

I don't really have access to anything other than codeine right now. The only other thing I have laying around that I was tempted to try is Tramadol, but I figure it's unwise to start taking that after I already took the codeine.

Ah well, tomorrow is a new day!

Taking a small dose of codeine and Tramadol can give you a nice buzz. my wife was prescribed 50mg of tramadol and I was prescribed 30mg codeine so we both did one of each and went into town pleasant buzzing around the shops. Neither of us are opiate tolerant and we found mixing the two together very pleasurable. I personally took 300mg of codeine in one go and was very high and euphoric and itching all over which I didn't find too bad. I am 6 foot 1 inch tall and 15 stone in weight. That is 210 lbs so for a euphoric high you could try 5 30mg tablets

I'll probably try taking either tramadol or valium with codeine tomorrow and see how that treats me, and then maybe in a few more days try the 5 codeine you suggested.

Hopefully I feel something other than itchiness next time! :3

its a slippery slope with prescription drugs, just experiment and leave it there. But I wish you luck on your fantastic voyage. An antihistamine is always a good idea with codeine. I find it unbearable sometimes with the itching that codeine produces.

Experimenting and leaving it there is definitely what I intend on doing, but thank you for the warning!
I'll definitely grab myself an antihistamine for the next time that I try, thanks. :D

Watch out for the nausea from taking too much. It'll ruin the experience.

Next time, take the codeine at once, and not in divided doses. You don't need to add anything to it - just the codeine will give you the best idea of what it does. Just wait a few days to a week, and try again whilst just chilling around the house. I would suggest 75 mg to 105 mg, at once, and let it roll over you. Remember, opiates are subtle, really, and often an acquired taste.

Truetrue. Hopefully I stay true to my word and don't mess around too much. I want to try a looot of drugs at the moment though for some reason, I'm just trying to go about it as carefully as possible. But yeah, I know it can all be a bit of a slippery slope. I've watched too many friends kind of go off a bit more than they'd intended. Thank you for the warning though.

I had a feeling I kind of messed up with the divided doses, I was just so worried about taking too much or having some shitty side effect. ;_; At least now I know all was cool apart from the itching though, so when I get more I'll take somewhere between 75-105, as you suggested. Thank you for your help! :D
