Hello one and all. Before I start here's a little background.
My friend is planning to trip on LSD this weekend but wasn't sure about it. They are 19 years old and there drug use has included, Cannabis, Salvia, Cocaine and Mephedrone.

They bought LSD in January and have been saving it. It has been stored in a cool dark place, wrapped up as securely and tightly as possible to keep Oxygen, Light and other contaminants away from it. That said they are still nervous about it going off as it's not in the freezer which seems to be the best method of storage for long term use. As of such they want to do it sooner rather than later before it loses potency.

For a couple of weeks only my friend and his brother will be in the house. His brother knows he smokes cannabis but would frown upon everything else and as of such my friend isn't in the mind to tell him. What he plans to do is wait for his brother to go to bed put on some chilled music downstairs in the study ( A pretty secluded room), play skyrim (It makes him feel comfortable and relax to play video games). He also has a couple of nature documentaries lined up to watch, a walk into the garden to see the stars and a couple of Nature Photography books. My friend is very introverted and has no problem being on his own and as of such he feels pretty comfortable experiencing LSD for the first time on his own.

He is aware that this is a powerful substance not to be abused. He is nervous of it but does see its potential in it being a great tool. He has suffered from depression and has just completed a 5 week cold turkey withdrawl from Prozac (Will be 6 weeks by the time he drops). He feels that he didn't need prozac anymore and that it was in fact inhibiting him socially and emotionally. The side effects of withdrawl aren't as bad as they were but some are still present. He is very nervous but also excited about doing this.

The blotter he plans on taking is supposedly 70-90 ug.. He is hoping to learn more about himself, how to be a better person and also to have new enjoyable experience. That is what he wishes to get out of it. He is quite a melancholy anxious person by nature however.

What are your guys thoughts?.
Any help, advice, personal tales or cautionary tales?.

As a note he hasn't touched drugs of any sort except alcohol in about 4 weeks.

Thanks.

Every time you let something cross your lips you take a gamble. I'm in a similar position, ie: I've been battling depression for many years. I've postponed taking acid for the past year because I'm unsure as to whether I'm mentally strong enough to steer myself to a good experience. That's the problem when you're mentally fragile - you risk the possibility of a dark trip, with no guarantee of refuge and every possibility that you may worsen your mental state when sober. A lot of what he will experience won't be transferable to day-to-day life because the LSD mind-set doesn't tend to translate itself easily into normal wakefulness. He would probably learn a great deal more by meditating daily and finding a strong, consistent inner peace before launching his melancholy self into a soul search.

I hope he goes on a very rewarding journey and it helps him to overcome some of his issues. :)

You're worrying about this more than you need to. LSD stored carefully can last for many months with little or no degradation- I myself have taken year-old LSD that worked just fine. Also, the freezer is NOT the best storage method- if you store LSD in the freezer then water droplets may condense onto it when it's brought out. The fridge is a better bet.

Its a great question, the fact that you care about it staying a positive experience is very great but keep it there, don't let it into worry.
I suffered from really intense depression and was hospitalized for awhile from it, I started experimenting with drugs about a solid year later.
Im gonna be completely honest here, and no bad vibes intended man! Please filter my words if you don't feel it really resonates with your situation but LSD doesn't numb you, Hunter S Thompson described psychedelics as being forced consciousness. Which doesnt mean a bad thing. Im gonna tell it to you straight, be somewhere you really feel comfortable to freak out in a good way. Depression entails a lot of emotion, and that's the great thing about tripping is the chance to let it all go. That's the point for me at least. To discover love and release the feelings I don't want in whatever way my heart is asking me to in the moment. The brother being there might not feel good, but hey ive tripped on some acid and went to work and was fine so it really depends on where YOU take IT. In my opnion, you say hes nervous, and recently came off Prozac and wants to use it as a tool. Before you take the teacher LSD you wanna be purely sure and confident, with the intention that you are about to heal.
Think it, feel it, and believe 100% that your true desire will be attained by YOU not by the LSD during the trip, she just guides you into the focus of what is already inside. Nothing is added or taken away.
Number 1 thing to always do when your about to touch something new, mysterious and a teacher: take half and wait at LEAST one hour for the next half.
LSD takes time to climax, trust me you wont be missing out it lol will be just as strong and great but your come-up will be so much more chill, giving you time to adjust.
A lot of people can have very balanced yet strong hallucinations with half a hit.
I suggest as its starting to kick in, see the stars. It will bring you into such a good vibe of peace.
Set your intention with all your heart, take half first, and be in a place where you can get wild.

Idk about anyone else but even when I was a huge gamer I preferred being outside on lsd. Not that I never gamed on it, we would just usually wind up outside eventually.

LSD on a nice day with people you are comfortable with, shit man the drug provides the entertainment thats all you really need imo.

Make sure the people you bought it from are trust worthy, alot of lsd being sold today is 2c-Xs or 25X-Nbomes

This is a common view, but I disagree. In my opinion, mental illness is one of the best reasons to take a psychedelic, provided that it's not of the psychotic variety. One of the most helpful functions of psychedelics is to demonstrate YOU to yourself, which helps you gain a better understanding of your psychological issues, and how to solve them.

Also - those painful, "dark" trips that happen during dark times? They're often more constructive than the fun trips.

Taste test it before you munch on it, make sure it's not bitter.

Just relax and enjoy the trip, don't worry too much or you might trip yourself out. I've found LSD is one of the easier drugs on the mind unless taking a larger dose but treat it with respect.

Just make sure your friend is comfortable, and look out for him. Understand and accept, that things will get weird and unpredictable. Start your doses low. Stay in a controlled environment. Don't take things too seriously! You are hallucinating, imagining things. The first trips for me were real giggly and surreal. Your mind will probably try and play tricks on you, don't let it freak you out, remain calm and enjoy your new mental freedom.
