Alcohol. Should be the same for most Bluelighters.
2nd was tobacco/nicotine.
3rd was weed (only tiny amounts at that time).
4th was GBL. <- first time I regarded myself really a "drug user".
Truly, the first drug i took to get high was probably Vicodin... which when i thought of this question quickly i thought, oh its weed and alcohol... but i remember my mom gave me some vics for menstrual cramps once and every now and then (after i remembered how it made me feel) I would ask and get them when i really didnt need them, needless to say, its been a long journey since...
i took ritalin since i was in 6th grade, but i never remember feeling high or anything, it was just like take it because i said so... so i did and i felt nothing so im guessing that doesn't count?
my first several dips were so intense, i immediately liked the feeling a "buzz" would give me. i could barely walk a straight line and the experience was very exhilarating. alcohol came very soon after, and that's when the experimenting begun.
First drug I tried was Adderall (amphetamine mixed salts) when I was 14.
After that I began to explore other pharms. Benzos, muscle relaxers, opioids. Discovered tramadol and decided it was the best for me and been dependent on it since I was 15. I am now 22.
Strange thing is, I didn't get to marijuana until a couple years later.
So, as far as the gateway drug theory. It's bullshit. Any first drug you take is going to be "gateway". Not marijuana alone.
Normally I can't remember last week but I surprise myself that I can remember my early experiences. The list goes alcohol, pot, acid, mushrooms, "speed", MDMA and then it blurs into all the other colours of the rainbow.
life when the life started to wear out i tasted the alchocol
After that cigarettes came, then when i was 13 year old i tryed weed and never looked back, i abused all sorts of shit like nail polish and stuff.
