First Drug Ever Tried?

What was the first recreational drug you tried?

When I was really,realy young (I'm talking toddler age) I used to get colic really bad and the standard remedy for that in the '70s was paragoric(which is an elixer of morphine and alcohol for those who don't know).It tastes like fiery licorice and back then you didn't even need a prescription,you just had to sign for it.Of course at that age I didn't know what it was but I sure did like the warm,numby feeling it gave me.
 
alcohol then marijuana then hydrocodone then coke then molly then heroin

For fun/lulz I added a poll. Caffeine and nicotine were omitted due to the likelihood that the data therefrom would obscure collection of more interesting types of responses from users. Please do not interpret this poll as if it excludes alcohol and cannabis; I'm interested in the relative proportions of people who began with either of those and others who had less standard points of entree. Please post replies for suggestions for how said poll could be improved.

The first drug I tried was the wonderful, magical crack cocaine. I love smoking. I do all day. I'm on crack =D I loves me some crack =D

No, on a serious note the first drug I tried was alcohol though it's legal followed shortly by inhalants, followed shortly by weed. Then a good while later I chugged cough medicine, then I progressed to doing all sorts of things
 
Well, I guess after my brother got me to try snuff when I was 11, it was hydrocodone near age 15 - as prescribed for extreme migraines. Had no idea they were abusable for at least a couple of years - I'd just think my mood is better than normal after the pain subsided because the pain was bad and the pills took care of it. I used it occasionally when I was in a really bad or suicidal state until I was 17 or 18 and then stopped using it. I never thought of it like getting high. I'd get high on nortriptyline (although it was often mainly a method to induce sleep that was pleasant until sleep began - I'd stay awake a week at a time...) but felt the same about that.

The second drug was a high dose of HBWR seeds when I was 18. I was extremely suicidal and wanted to have a bad trip that would make it worse and thus suicide easy but I had also read of positive life-changing experiences from psychedelics including remission or cure of depressive symptoms. I had one of my most unpleasant trips but it took away the depression for maybe 2 months and I had repeated success with this for at least 2 or 3 years.

Third was probably DXM age 18 but may have been alcohol. I remember being terrified I would gouge my own eyes out. It feels fucking awful when you think you are going to lose control of what you are doing and mutilate and blind yourself even though you are trying to hide your eyes to keep them safe and keep your hands in a safe place so they can't grab something sharp to get the eyes with.

Fourth was probably alcohol, age 18

Then I can't remember the exact order. First research chemical was 5-meo-amt when I was 20. Also tried mushrooms around this time.

Weed was one of the most recent additions to my very long list of substances used.
 
caffeine -> nicotine -> alcohol -> cannabis -> salvia -> ephedrine -> lots of other things else in close succession
 
recreationally it was cannabis at 13, allthough i had had cider and wine before with my familly, then rec booze at 15, then cocaine before MDMA/xtc pills at 18, LSD and ketamine the next year, RC's (2Cx, mephedrone and JWH-018, maybe a couple of others, benzos and opiates started at 21, that's when shit got really out of hand

then, heroin became my favorite. couple years of crack in-between and benzos.
