Fine foods -- what are you a sucker for?

Love toasted cheese sandwiches. Add some garlic, salt and mixed herbs = awesome. Best hangover food ever, along with cheeseburgers.

As for something a little more highbrow, I love Turkish/Lebanese cuisine. The freshly baked bread, the dips, the fantastic meat... I could live on nothing but this stuff. Authentic hommus ftw!

EDIT: BL'ers in Melbourne should check out a restaurant on Brunswick St called The Golden Terrace. Small family restaurant that has been running for years. Go there and get the all you can eat deal, absolutely fucking fantastic.

=D <3

Foie gras is duck or goose something or rather? Never had it and I haven't quite figured it out yet. I had to check twice in order to spell that right even.

What is short panatella? N/M I just did some research. Those look nice! I'd like to check those out. I'll go by my chocolate/tobbacco shop soon to see if they carry em'.

its goose liver, they normally force feed them grain so they fatten up, is really nice if seared and served with caramelized apples or pears

Lotsa people here love the goose liver... and so do I. 8o

~Fois gras ...it's been a while, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
~Really really fresh smoked salmon, or salmon sashimi ...I can eat pounds of this.
~Wagyu steak or kobe beef ....melt in your mouth goodness...
~A really good beef carpaccio with olive oil, lemon and parmesan
~Spicy portuguese sardines, seabass, clams, oysters, hell...I'll eat any kind of fresh fresh seafood
(except crab..never liked it.)
~ Prosciutto di parma and pancetta
~High quality cheese is always a treat
~Pimiento stuffed olives, hell, I love ALL olivesin every size, color and shape.
~sun dried tomatoes, and super fresh cherry tomatoes, arugula, all kinds of peppers

oh and I'm far from a snob, I eat everything imaginable but these are just some favorites I splurge on when I have the means to =D

Gah now I'm hungry :X

mmmmmm, you got really good taste

I like expensive, age cheeses, especially aged gouda, it's so milky and smooth. Good parmesan, like to just eat it on its own with a spoon.

Unfortunately dark chocolate makes me want to vomit. I know I'm missing out, but it just tastes so awful to me. Once it hits the back of my tongue/throat I have to quickly was my mouth with something sweet.

I like good stake, filets, ribeye, love beef. Lamb has a certain smell to it that I just can't get used to.

Orange roughy and mahi mahi are my favorite fish.

I like fresh figs, ice cream called talenti which is like $5 for 1 pint and I can it 2 in one day. Favorite type is Argentinian dulce de leche, next favorite is caramel cookie crunch. I try to alternate cuz I sometimes get sick of the dulce if I have too much too often.

I like expensive coffee, can't remember the name but comes in a little can and its from Italy. Unfortunately my stomach doesn't like coffee so I drink tea instead.

also like prosciutto,

good sushi is great

I make awesome Mexican food, better than any restaurant really.

Smoked sea salt. Guava wood is good.

And cafe alamid-- the civet cat shit coffee. A bunch of other small-produced coffees here. I find that even robusta, when high-altitude, roasted to my preference, and taken a few days only after roasting, is great! Liberica is also good but more of a kick.

Of course, drinking chocolate. Hand harvested, hand roasted, made into little rollos/tableas in small batches. Every place has its taste.

Our country is very regional in its foods and has high plant biodiversity. I consider common/underutilized food to be awesome, some people in the city may call it fine, but it's just got character and freshness.
