finding like-minded people in a new city

I've been at my school (ivy league) for 2 years and have only come across weed a few times and coke by word of mouth. I'm just curious how other people go about finding these things. Do you casually bring it up in a conversation or via friends or do you just happen upon it at a party of some sort. Its been hard for me here because back home, my friends deal a lot (weed, coke, shrooms, e, acid) and everytime I come back to school, I feel a little lost. I'm clearly not asking for a specific hookup (forum rules) but looking for advice so that I can enhance my last 2 years at school.
 
at college its easy to find weed, if you find a group of people that drink (which is quite common in college) almost always at least a couple of them if not a lot more will smoke weed. from there you can look for other drugs.
 
Your in college. That is the one place that you can get just about anything that you want. Make friends with people in the art and/or music deptartments.
go from there.
 
I moved to the US to work where I knew no one and had a regular hook-up before. It was like moving into Betty Ford. I wouldn't dream of asking a co-worker. I would think college would be easier. After 3 months, a connection came around without me asking. I like to think I have good drug hook-up karma...if I am patient.
 
you can usually look at someone and KNOW they do drugs.

maybe I just have "userdar" like a gay guy has the "gaydar" or whatever?

I am very rarely ever wrong.

how big is your school? if it has more than 2 people, atleast 1 of them will do drugs.
 
dbighead2 is right, most of the time they are just easy to spot. alot of the time, i'll just ask random people too. it cant hurt, can it?
 
be careful.....do not just walk up to them and be like hey man.....DO YOU DO DRUGS????


you have to get to be their friend first, then when they accept you...bring it up.

it also depends on how you look, if you look like a punk bitch, people won't sell to you.

so you're saying you should just try to make friends with random people because they "look like they do drugs"?

I mean I know damn well I wouldn't give some random person drugs, maybe I am just paranoid? I'd have to know you enough to trust you before I sell you anything.

And most dealers I know, except for the dime and nickel boys are like that.
 
and he's talking about hard drugs, which equal hard time.


which means I would be way more selective with who i sell stuff to......if he is going to find drugs, he needs to make friends.
 
oh ok, i see what youre saying. i thought you meant like if you just saw someone on the bus or on the street who liked they did drugs you should automatically go try and make friends with them. but yes certainly you should try and make friends with people who appear more like they would use drugs.

Heh, I agree. I can easily pick out drug users. I also like to challenge myself and try to figure out what specific drug(s) they do. It's typically pretty hard although stoners are easy to distinguish.

By the way, I find most of my hook-ups by getting phone numbers from people who smoke weed, with them thinking I only have the intention of getting weed myself, and then talk to the dealer about other stuff personally. I don't like to let most people know I do other stuff unless I know they do too.

yep, and most "hardcore" users are the same way. So you'll have to earn peoples trust.

Not necessarily true! I do a lot of drugs and everytime people find out they are really surprised.
 
^^^I also swear to god that the latest trend is to look like a total drug addict but to actually not use any drugs.

Before this trend I also felt that I could sniff out dopers, i still can to a degree but it has gotten harder.

I agree with others here: find drinking buddies, hang out in dives or college bars or night clubs. Also I have had success with buddying up with guys the work the graveyard at convience stores. Also a shitty job such as a pizza joint, fast food or call center are great places to meet connections.
 
Pct- yeah i was thinking that the whole time, some people will suprise you, and sometimes they biggest users are the most straight laced.

it does get tricky sometimes.
 
Yeah, Pct brings up a good point. As far as appearances and personalities go, I am the last person anyone would expect to use hard drugs. However I have been told on many occasions that I look like a stoner. It's more complicated I suppose.
