Finally, we're back on!

Wow, so much has happened since I had last written here. So much has happened! These last few months have been THE busiest months of my whole life.

I will write down the highlights here and perhaps expand on them in later entries:

- My spell of misfortune came to an end, at last. I am generally healthy now, and have found a new house and job (thanks, for the most part, to Vegan's help. He is one of my angels... I have no idea what could have happened without his help). I managed to repay back one debt, as well as having received a letter from the Canadian Government telling me that I have been relieved of my student loans. I honestly cannot think of anything that has made me so happy since the early days of my childhood, back when I got that Lego set I had been wanting for months.

- I met carl (of BL)! That was a lovely meeting with a wonderful person. Carl is a tall, mousy (in a cute way!) guy with a positive vibe and a fun personality. We feasted on Sushi and Sashimi that day, and it was great. I had the chance to meet him again when he passed through bkk en route to Cambodia, about three weeks ago. However, I have not heard from him since then, nor does he seem to have gotten online at any of the sites I see him at, and so I am pretty concerned that something bad may have happened to him...

- I started getting used to bkk, I now feel a sort of ease despite not particularly liking it any more than I always have (which isn't much). It is my hope to be able to make enough money as soon as possible to launch to a more reasonable country.

This is all I could think of for now... I have just come back from a second visa run from Malaysia, and I will write in detail about this visit (which includes a cutie I met on my travels and absolutely adored! ;)).

Hi Jam, I have heard from carl through email, he has no cellphone connection though. It was a short mail, so he may have been on the go :) I am in Cambodia as well now, so I might chance upon him before I leave.

^Good to know carl is OK.

It sounds like things are going well for you Jammy. Good to hear! :)

Whew, I'm glad Carl is ok. He is surprisingly tall in person huh Jammy? :)

I'm sort of jealous of your life. Fascinating. :)

Jam, what is the Immigration situation like there now? I thought you could not make runs anymore or are you not on a Tourist Visa? The rules had just changed when I last came though (last time was middle of march this year, 2008). they were saying though, 6 months on a Tourist with no reups.

In days gone past we would have to just step over the border for 5 minutes and then come back through. That was when Aran was a tent city. Things have changed alot, damn I am old.

Anyway, you talked about working so maybe it is a different visa. Hope you have found Carl by now, and that is cool about your loans. You are a lucky person! My education was paid for by the army (IDF) so I am well lucky I suppose.

just a quick note, why the hell do these smilies keep getting automatically inserted into my text? I had said: Two thousand and eight...

The smilies happen because this: "8_)" (no_) will create this smiley. You can get rid of it either by adding a space between the 8 and the bracket, or check the box at the bottom of the advanced reply page that says disable smilies.

As for immigration, yes I am on my 2nd "Non-B" (work) visa. I got a tourist visa between the two, hence the need to do jumps.

Yep, I met carl several times actually :).

Glad about Carl. Also glad you gave me a heads up about the "Smilies."

Interesting about the visa because I erreoneously had always assumed (since the change) that they were keeping tight track of who was getting which Visa and thought that they would have negated any loopholes. I know that all they cared about for me was holdg long I would be in country and gave me the 3 days stamp so no visa needed either way, and I went in and out of BK.
