Finally RX'ed Xanax

i went to my doctor office in regards to PTSD, and anxiety disorder. that day i didnt see my primary doctor, i seen a PA, she was very helpful, put me on Cymblata, and gave me #45 0.25 xanax every 8 hours AS NEEDED, she quoted "i expect this script to last a month or two and to take when a panic attack occurs"

despite her comment, when i legally ran out at 3x a day, 2 week supply, i called in for refill pick up at my doctors office, i told the nurse my primary doctors name, to my surprise they allowed me to pick up my script for xanax, also to my suprise they gave me an increase without asking to .5 3x/day, also "take as needed" was changed to "take 1 tablet 3x/DAILY", my question is is it safe for me to call in for my refills when i legally run out at 3x a day as the script says and disregard the comment my PA said about "making a 2wk supply last a month or two" ? my real PRIMARY doc wrote my script for pick up, she increased me to .5 3x/day "daily", not "as needed" like the PA wrote. im just confused, does this mean since its DAILY now i wont have problems calling in for my refill when im due?

As long as you follow the label, you can be getting your doctor to get a refill as much as they allow.
 
heh yea I only get scripted temazepam 10 pills at a time. kinda sucks but taking benzos every day isn't a good idea unless you really need it.
 
Damn thats like the most pathetic dose for your doctor to put you on.....

but doctors do worry about xanax so I guess it makes sense but jeez 0.25? O.o

Anyway i get 1.0/20x, and I will refill it if it says there are refills, and I havent gotten any complaints from my doctor, so I think you should be okay.
 
since the med is habit forming yes you should be able to get refills with no problem,some docs,even a day early.they don't want you going into withdrawals,but if you call to early they will most likely drop you!
 
well they increased me to .05 which i know is low, but i didnt even ask, hopefully they will increase again to 1mg when i call it in again, just wanted to make sure i can call it in legally when im due despite what the PA said about making it last a month or so, and then my primary actually increased it and labeled it take daily, so just wondering if i'd have problems verse what the PA said and what the primary is doin...im grateful either way .5 or not...still working my way up the ladder
 
im thinking bout going in today to see my primary (due for refill next wednesday) and tell her that im going on vacation this friday for a couple weeks to Texas, perhaps ill get an early script with a changed or increased dose since i wont "be here next wednesday to get my refill" will that raise red flags?
 
those are low doses... how low is your benzo tolerance? is that low of a dose actually helping your anxiety?

those doses wouldn't affect me much even if i didn't have a extreme benzo tolerance. i remember when i was first put on benzos it took 1-1.5mg of alprazolam just to provide mild anxiety relief. then again i was perscribed fast acting barbiturates before i was prescribed benzos, and i hear that pretty small doses of benzos are only needed to provide anxiety relief.
 
Yes, that is quite a low dose. Aren't you prescribed a benzodiazepine? I'm hoping you didn't switch it off just to go on 0.5mg x3 a day. If you are already on a benzodiazepine and have a high tolerance I couldn't imagine that helping. I remember being prescribed 2mg x4 a day and since I had such a high tolerance, I didn't feel it really.

Repeated requests for early prescriptions/refills are usually regarded as a red flag but some doctors are more laid back than others about benzos.
 
my sub doc had me on klonopin .5 3x/day, but he stopped and is being a dick. so i reached out to my primary doc, which she increased me to .5 3x/"daily"(xanax) not "as needed .25 3x/day" as the PA gave me before my surprise increase when i went to pick up my script at the office,provided by my PRIMARY this time not the PA. i actually have a benzo tolerance where ineed atleast now 2-4mg xanax/klonopin for "relief", my tolerance has gone down a lot over the weeks, im grateful my primary is working with me due to my honesty. but i just dont want to be too greedy by going in there tomorrow stating im going out of state for the holidays and that i need enough medication to last me while im gone for the 3 weeks,(im due for my xanax refill next wednesday) but im explaining that im leaving for Texas Thursday morning, and that i wont be here next week to pick up my refill, so im sure the primary doc of mine would have to change my script so i can fill it, and not write the same script as before thus the pharmacy denying me, so i figure if my primary understands im going "on vacation for 3 weeks" and wont be here next week for my actual refill next week she will prolly change the script to maybe 1mg so the pharmacy will fill it. i dont know people, forgive me cloudiness thinking and typing, i actually am going to rehab friday, but i do want xanax to sneak in due to the fact on medical papers my dose is only .5 3x a day when it is higher, and im afraid when i go to detox, they will just give me phenobarb to prevent just seizures from withdrawl and make me suffer and not taper me off of benzos, like when i was in detox before, them fucks didnt even wean me off benzos, just gave me phenobarb incase i had a seizure and made me suffer, so i need to do this for survival.........ugh im so stressed and cloudy now, forigve me people...any thoughts, suggestions for tomorrow when i see my primary and explain i need a script for my cymbalta, INHALER (trouble breathing panic attacks) and my xanax (and explain i will be in texas by the time im due to pick up my xanax script)??????????????????????????????? thanks any words of wisdom would help, basically he only problem of mine is figuring out how she will give me xanax for my vacation trip, when i wont be in my area next week when im due for my script pick up to get it...suggestions????????????????
 
Xanax is okay for stim comedowns, panic attacks and occasional shit days. But I wouldn't go all out on it and take it all day every day. You will be hating life when it comes time to come off of it, you get addicted or WD. Benzo WD is no fucking joke. I wish I didn't take benzos daily for panic disorder.. but when it was at its peak I needed them.. now I take what I need too survive. I don't know why people get so excited over xanax scripts.
 
yeah, xanax is for panic attacks. klonopin is for generalized anxiety - daily anxiety.

of course xanax is gonna help for any kind of anxiety and it is the best in my book, also the most addictive. if you want to get high, use xanax. if you want to actual live a normal life, take the klonopin. this is of course you have panic attacks 3 times a day, hehe.

another thing you might want to consider is cycling between a benzo and lyrica. i take lyrica 1 week out of the month as to prevent tolerance and addiction to clonazepam. its a great drug and i would take it all the time but it stops working unless you take breaks.

i put on 13lbs in one fucking month and couldnt even form sentences, from taking lyrica 3 months in a row of normal 150-300mg doses. so even after i have time to clear it out i still dont want to be taking it as a mainstay like i originally though.

i would like to take lyrica 1 week out of the month and the next month take it 2 weeks out of the month and go back to 1 the next month. taking it anymore than that may bring back the weight gain.
 
i been thru hell and back with benzos, big reason why i need more, i really have anxiety but ignore talk therapy, or SSRI's or SNRI's, just choose what takes the pain of my symptoms away and always go for the good shit :-(
 
I'm surprised you can call in and get the script written for you without seeing the doctor. I know my doctor's office has a rule about strict meds (pain medicine & benzos), you have to see the doctor every month to get the script... My mom gets #150 10 mg / 325 per month and she has to go to him every month (if you ask me, I think they are just wanting to make the guaranteed $ from your monthly visit)...

I had to do something similar with birth control pills once...it might be different for controlled substances, but some insurance companies will allow this once per calendar year because, well, people do go on vacations.
