Finally Making an Intro

Hello to everyone! I'm a longggg time lurker (got on the site in 2001) under a different username, which I can't recall (something with a bluetongue), and I've been registered with this username for maybe five years- ish. I'm almost a daily visitor- I do go through phases- but I figured I'd finally make a formal introduction and start posting, as I finally feel like I may have something to contribute to certain discussions (it's bizarre how much of my free time I've spent watching docs on drugs and reading about them). I'm sure some of you will get to know me, but basic stats are I'm a female, from Florida, lived in DC for college and several years after, and now I'm back home in the Magic City. Not married, no kids (don't want any), a dog and a cat. I love baseball, all watersports- kitesurfing in particular, travelling, having adventures, reading, and listening to great music (i have very ecclectic taste in music, but my fav's are Marley, Led Zep, Gorillaz, Sublime, Hendrix, Crystal Castles, NIN, Rage, and CCR). I guess that's all for now- a very cursory introduction indeed! Thanks for taking the time to read ;) .
 
I'm new...nice to meet you. Are you in birmingham Al? That manic city? I live in mc calla. I met my hubby in Tampa, he's from Tuscaloosa. If so....what a weirdcoincident.

This could have been my post there are so many parallels with just a few exceptions. I didn't go to D.C. for collage. I'm male. And I don't live in Orlando although I do live in FL. Everything else is surprisingly coincides with my circumstances. Right down to being left handed (assumption) and one of my initials is J. (another assumption). Welcome to the forum.

Hey Bamagirl, thanks for the intro! I actually live in Miami, which they call the Magic City... Nothing too magical about it, except that its incredibly easy to party here, if you know what I mean ;). Ive never been to Alabama, but I wiuld love to go I hear its beautiful. I was actually considering moving to Tampa just to get a fresh start.

Also thanks for introducing yourself beentheredonethat. The amount of parallels are weird. Im from Miami and currently live there. What city are at? I'm curious about what the scene is like in other cities in FL. Also,
random question, but are you an only child? I always ask fellow southpaws bc its rare, I've only met one other lefty only-child in my entire life, so that would blow my mind. And yeah, you're right, my first name starts with J.
 
Southpaw, when you said "magic city" in you're first post I assumed Orlando as its often referred to in that manner. There was a time I drove to Miami every day I don't think I need to say why I'm sure you can figure out what for. I live an hour north in B.R. Its a coincidence that you asked me if I'm an only child because I am . I've only been back in the area for 6 months I came back here for family issues. I was nervous about returning to this area as it was my stomping ground but so far so good. I feel if you get away from dope in you head , heart and soul, you can walk this earth free. That's working for me so far.

Weird beentheredonethat, I came back to area for family issues too, was perfectly content living in DC before. Doubly weird that you are also an only child lefty, we are a very special breed, and i think that's part if the reason we get into trouble living life. Totally agree about the temptations here, it's a gnarly paychological struggle on the daily. Sounds like you are doing really well though.
