generally the cig filters we get in the fit packs where im from. though it is best and most sensible to use a micron filter. if you got a q-tip, cotton wool or rollie filter double or triple filtering is the way to go.

Yeah wheel-filters are great, if you haven't heard of them (they weren't an option in your question) you can get them at fit exchanges.
After you've drawn up your mix into a screw-tip barrel you screw the wheel onto the end, connect another barrel on the other side of the wheel and gently push it through -done.
Tip: Wet the wheel filter with water before you use it or the membrane can tear and lose your shot.
You can get different degrees of fineness in the membrane, the .22 micron is the smallest (I think) and will filter out bacteria, but you may need to start with a courser one depending on what your mixing up.

As you didn't put tailor made ciggie' filters as an option I guess you know about the dangers of fiberglass, but you can make a razor sharp blade out of tailor made buts, handy if you're in jail.

i'll check out these micron-filters... there is an exchange but its quite far away... i'll ask at the pharmacy...

OK, has anyone in the US picked up micron's from a needle exchange or from a pharmacy?

How do you use those? Whenever I draw a solution through one half of it gets stuck in the filter and I end up with loads of air in the rig.

you only need a small strip then roll it up. no need to use half a filter, only gets gear stuck in it. and make sure you wet it before you put it in the spoon
 
First you filter with cotton wool to filter out the bigger particles (otherwise these will clog you micron filter). You can do so by using a 10 ml syringe without the needle. Stick some cotton wool inside and compress it with the plunger to the bottom of the barrel, into a shape approximating a disc. That disc-shaped cotton wool is your filter. Take out the plunger, fill the barrel with the solution, then replace the plunger and pump through the disc-shaped cotton filter. The liquid should emerge transparent (ie the bigger particles are no longer in it).

Then use a micro filter.

I use the micron onpills,cotton ciggis on other;)

are ciggie-filters really with fiberglass?thought that was a myth.

ask them for"sterilisierfilter" in germany,other than that you could
order them on the net,i do that cause only a few pharm. have a clue
what i'm talking about and needle x-changes dont have them here.
Whatmans are my favourite brand.i would be happy if pharms would
carry those "sterikit"(like they called here),but no,halfway through town to
n.x-change.the "whatties" i get brought to doorstep(I'm a lazy guy).:|
 
usually have always used a piece of cotton from a q-tip. its how i first learned how to do it so i just stuck with it. in times of emergencies i have used cig filters, paper towel, NOTHING lol...always filter tho if you can.
 
rip off a little piece of a q tip and roll it up in a ball. or you can get these little things at the needle exchange that are just like little tiny pieces of cotton that are specifically made for filtering
