films: What movies angered you?

lol, I saw almost every movie mentioned in this thread and none of them made me angry(well, bowling for columbine came close...).

I never thought of Episode 1 like that =D maybe next time I see it I`ll think of the same things Raz mentioned. Maybe I didn`t get the references the first time I saw it, but I thought it was an ok movie(actually, I`m one of the few people I know that liked all of the StarWars movies)

I also don`t get why people are enraged by strange( "bad" ) endings to movies. I don`t really mind how it ends, I mean, most things in life don`t go out with a bang, why should every movie go out with a bang? I can understand that you think that if a movie is good, the ending should be good, and sometimes it does feel kind of weird, but I`m not going to let a bad ending ruin a movie for me.

shhhh hippieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

The Passion of The Christ, something just tells me that it didn't happen anything like that.

^^^to retort, I would say it's simply logical to associate anger with hatred. After all, Yoda does...anger leads to hate! =D Our harsh responses/critiques of any film would connect to negativity towards it, and well in that realm anger and hate go hand-in-hand. After all, doesn't anger come from some form of hatred or discontent? And to say you hated a film but it didn't make you angry...wouldn't that be a slight contradiction? Flip it around and say the film made you angry but you don't hate it...well to be angry, there had to be something to spark that emotional distress, such as disliking, or a lesser, but similar value to hatred. You might not hate the film overall, but for it to make you angry, you had to hate something about it. The bottom line is, you didn't like it.

But getting back to something you said, how would you explain a "right" way of responding?

well it seems that raz has effectively argued my point - i couldn't have said it better myself =D

anyway, what i meant by the "right" way of responding is to, at least, try to respond to the threads in a different way. we might not all agree on what it is that makes "anger" different to "distaste", but when the two threads are asking for two different responses, hopefully people will adhere. that's all :)

Queen of the Damned --- because I read the book first
any movie with ben affleck - because I know there are better people to fill these parts (maybe aside from DareDevil where he was blind, so i'll give him that one)

Godzilla (the one with Mathew Broderick)

Also, I saw the preview for the movie "White Chicks" when I went to see Hellboy, and I think I would rather eat hot coals than see that movie..I mean really. WTF?

I was angered at Armageddon :)

Right on, Armageddon pisses me off the worst. The worst thing about movies like this is the constant use of cheap devices to evoke an emotional response. One that comes to mind is the panning shot of Liv Tyler in front of the giant american flag. I mean, her hair is blowing all over the place and it's friggin indoors! Almost as bad is the total lack of attention to the science fictional details of the movie. I couldn't even count the number of times common sense physics is blatantly tossed out the window in Armageddon, at least two dozen.

In that same vein is Mission to Mars. In terms of science, this one was even worse. There are clouds on mars and they show dinosaurs evolving into wooley mammoths!

Jurassic Park 3 - Worst end to a movie EVER!

one of the last movies i saw in theatre, it really disgusted me. Now i must get an opinion on movies so i dont waste my money like that :)

I think it was Amores Perros? I couldn't stand to watch the dogs kill eachother.

I can't say much for Passion of Christ since I fell asleep watchin the bootleg version LoLz! ALL i gotta say is don't watch Passion of Christ when your kinda tired..it'll def put your ass to sleep!

HOUSE OF A 1000 CORPSES!!! i kept watching thinking it might get better and it just never did. the plot was from about 50 other slasher movies and the acting was horrible. i was so frustrated by the end that i couldnt even speak for about 45 minutes. i wanna call up rob zombie and ask " what the fuck" or just slap him for making suck a piece of shit. i still cannot find the words to express how much i loathe this film, and anyone who thinks its "brilliant". now im pissed just thinkin about it.....:X

Blade II. Man, I was so hyped to see this movie b/c I loved Blade. The use of CGI looked very cheesy and the part where he "suplexes?" one of the guys....errr I mean come on, I know it is a fantasy movie, but geese...8(

pi- i expected there to be more of an ending than the dude killing himself. that was a real disappointment. he figured out the number then kills himself. with the hype i read about, i expected some real big shocking/creative ending

The dude didn't kill himself.... we call that a homemade lobotomy in the biz.

-Maid in Manhattan
-Superman III (with Richard Pryor)
-Superman IV- The Quest for Peace
