like all fanboys I've been salivating over the recent TV spots and trailers. I think the X-Men franchise has been well done and a couple aspects seem sure-fire for this next installment: the rise of the Pheonix (hinted by Jean Grey's death) and a final battle between Magneto's Brotherhood and the X-Men. what are everyone's thoughts as of now?

i thought X2 was great, and i can't wait to see X3. there has been some caution, since the director of X2, Bryan Singer, left the series to helm the new Superman. still, it will be interesting to see where the story goes...

Yeah, even though brett rattner is capable, he's hardly anything original.

I'm still stunned that X3 is definitely the last one..... (for now at least)

i'm going to like it
even if it's bad i'm going to like it

I'm only cautiously optimistic..."second sequels" usually suck. Proof is in the pudding, as the old saw goes.

ditto this.

i really liked x2. but not x1.

the previews look really good though.. im hoping they're not the highlight of the entire movie :)

i'm a little worried to see bryan singer hand over the reins for this one but the trailer looks like this will carry on where he left off. can't wait.

alasdair

i was so upset to see "the last stand" tacked onto it. "nnooooooo......." there are so many more storylines and characters and yadda yadda. i was more a fan of the cartoon than the comics, purely because im too lazy to read them all... but yeah. why put an end on it.

that having been said... hugh jackman said he wouldnt do another xmen, but is wokring on the wolverine spin off.... halle berry said she'd be a part of the wolverine movie.

anywho... cant wait til x3's out!

Oh my stars and garters!

OMG OMG OMG! I just got home from a free sneak preview of this. I am still totally blown away - this movie is gonna be HUGE! The crowd was great too, they all were excited to be there and even clapped at just the opening Marvel logo. Everybody cheered when someone bad got their ass kicked, or when a mutant showed off their powers.

I have also heard that there is going to be a Wolverine spin-off movie. That sounds ok, but holy shit does Magneto need one of his own. That dude is such a badass. And then Juggernaut, good god! I love Vinnie Jones to begin with but he had some of the best lines. "Do you know who you are messing with? I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!" =D

-----END SPOILER

Funniest shit ever!

Oh man, I think I might even have to go back and pay to see it again this weekend. Everyone was all talking about how the new director was going to screw it up, and honestly I didn't even notice a difference. The only thing might have been that there was a lot more action, more explosions, but that could also just be the series trying to go out with a bang.

Too bad I can't talk about the end yet! Go see it!!! Four thumbs up!

(And I'm sorry, I know you guys are looking for more substance and highbrow commentary than this, but I am just too excited to try and analyze it to death yet.)

im soooo excited to see this movie tomorrow!!!!!!
i wanted to go the midnight showing but it was like 530 and people were already camping infront of the theater, i was like hell no im sitting next to those nerds for 7 hours..... Yes i am a nerd to a certain degree but these kids take the cake on the nerd scale. They're the kind you ignore on the street but when you get home the only message on your puter is from them asking to chill....
sorry that was prolly a lil mean and made little sense yay for adderall.

Just came back from this.

Fantastic movie.

I don't want to spoil anything by saying much about the movie but for anyone watching

BE SURE TO STAY TILL THE VERY END OF THE CREDITS

there is a secret teaser :)

Gah! If only I'd known that, I just got back from seeing it.

Was pretty good. A lot of little jokes in it, much more than the previous two. I couldn't help but notice a lot of computer graphics too, more than even stuff like the Matrix films used. That or it was because I was in the front row and that close everything looks a little odd.

Good storyline, some unexpected occurances and the last moment before the credits you could guess.

Oh, and did anyone else think the "Shockwave" charactor looked like an even more camp version of Prince?

What?! The first showing at my local cinema was at 6pm today. We decided at 6.20pm we'd go see the 8pm showing and booked tickets online without a problem.
