directed and written by kurt wimmer (equilibrium), with star milla jovovich... opens march 3rd... i'm pretty interested in this flick- the trailer looks nice, and i overlooked equilibrium back in the day as a no-brains action flick and found out later i was mistaken. the action direction of the film is supposed to have developed the gun-kata style from equilibrium more fully, definitely looking forward to that. anyone that catches it early let me know what you think, eh?

I don't know, the plot sounds cheesy but the effects look awesome and the heroine is a hotty. I'll give it a shot once it hits DVD.

their plot summery:

Set in the late 21st century, a subculture of humans have emerged who have been modified genetically by a vampire-like disease (Hemophagia), giving them enhanced speed, incredible stamina and acute intelligence, and as they are set apart from "normal" and "healthy" humans, the world is pushed to the brink of worldwide civil war (a war between humans and hemophages) aimed at the destruction of the "diseased" population. In the middle of this crossed-fire is - an infected woman - Ultraviolet (played by Milla Jovovich), who finds herself protecting a nine-year-old boy who has been marked for death by the human government as he is believed to be a threat to humans.

Three stars. I loved some of the F/X, but the story and the character never really hooked me. I also hate movies where people outnumbered and outgunned a hundred to one win without a scratch, over and over and over. At least Jovovich is eye candy.
