film: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (remake)

still haven't seen it yet. Just wanted to know if they've still kept the whole "driving in a combi van" thing. Did they also keep the character "Franklin" in a wheelchair.. is he even in the remake?

Saw it tonight. I enjoyed it. The performances were really good.

And man... Jessica Biel is off the charts. One of the hottest women I have EVER seen.

An interesting review:D That's a description of a film that should be used a lot more regulary. "I saw the movie and it was GAY AS HELL!"=D

They were in a van, there was NO Franklin. The only weelchair-bound character was part of the family.

Adios,
Steve

Thank you. I have been waiting moons for your reply. ;)
I think i'll start with Skinny Legs first as i remember seeing that one laying around.
I look forward to reading it once i get moved next week.

The scene where the chick blows her head off and the subsequent body scenes really made me think. I mean in most movies in which someone is shot you see a bit of blood etc. but nothing that graphically depicts what would really happen if a bullet enters your face, ie. really fuck you up.

Are most hollywood films glorifying violence by not showing the true effects of it?

was this supposed to be funny?
because i found myself laughing at several points in this film. i was slightly wary about watching it last night, late at night... you know the story alone and scary... but instead of looking into the dark, wondering, i found myself being amused and laughing out loud.
the gore was ok... some of the attacks just amde me crack up and always guessing it would happen before hand.
altogether i thought it was amusing until the last two minutes with the 'real police film'

^Im not sure if there is a thread about that one.
It was good, I mean as good as the other remake, although its practically the same exact movie. The entire end sequence was almost EXACTLY the same..hot girl running away, hot girl hiding in meat factory, leatherface chasing hot girl through meat factory and foresty surrounding area...bleh.

The rest of the movie was good, just too similar. Although I guess with this type of movie there isnt a whole lot of ways they could make it different.

I thought it was worth seeing in the theater, just cuz I live for this type of movie. :)
