Gotta agree... there are about 3 or 4 good scenes, the rest is crap.
 
It's a varitable shot-for-shot remake of the original, with minor changes to make it more contemporary. The whole scooter thing wasn't to update it. The real updates came from the portions describing the prophecies... using real current events to show the wrath of god and the coming of the endtimes etc etc

Otherwise, yes, it's just like the first one.
