Film: The Omen

I've been waiting to see this movie ever since i saw a teaser of it last month.
I think it will be one of the few actually good re-makes of a classic...plus the date it comes out in theatres was pretty creative ;)
(6/6/06).

I love this movie....I have Omen 1 and II on VCD. =D I remember watching it alone back in the early eighties on Betamax and my parents freaked (I was only seven years old ;))

what is going on with this recent trend of remaking all the old classics? can't they just leave well enough alone instead of tainting the name?

Hollywood's out of ideas. If it worked once, may as well sell it to an audience who wasn't around to see the original.

Does that mean in about 30 years or so, I'll have seen every film they're ever likely to bring out?

Oh... wait, that already happened. :X

Saw this yesterday. Was pleasently surprised. The story is exactly the same as the original (as far as i can remember), only revamped a little to suite modern times. It has many cheesey parts. Unfortunetely, the annoying audience laughed at every little thing, funny or scary. Be prepared for that.

I've been really excited about seeing this movie. Glad to hear you liked it, L2R! The trailers look good, imo. But I'm a total sucker for horror flicks. I've never seen the original, so yay!

i saw the preview for this before X3. you could here all the moms and little kids in the theater squirming when the woman in the preview hung herself. family entertainment.

The kid looks too evil (in a forced way) to play Damien... The original kid was PERFECT... and this movie isn't even that old, why update movies that aren't out dated... and the fact that he rides on a scooter not a tricicle is silly, tricicles=outdated???

I only watched the original a few years ago and I thought it was a pretty sub-par horror film. I won't bother with this remake.

i thought the original was just "ok". It doesn't warrant a re-make IMO. I might see it via a.. umm..online rental we shall call it, but yeah, the only reason it was redone was to cash in on the 6/6/06 gimmick. My time would be better spent checking out the latest from MILFHunters i think.

Saw it last night, load of crap. My gf hasnt even seen the original and she was bored. Must say though, there are about 3 scene's which made most people jump. 2 stars

you really think so? I thought he was totally adorable! that little pouty lip really did it for me. I just wanted to squeeeeeeze him. that prolly would be a bad idea, though.

if the kid accutally had any dialogue in the movie it could have been good. the only part i liked was when he dropped kicked that lady in the face. prolly the best kick to the face ever in a movie
