Just the part where Sigur Ros's "Staralfur" plays is enough for me to like - such a great moment...

This whole movie rocked in every respect, even the techno toon they play during underwater explorations was hysterical. This movie got pretty deep too (philosophically, not water deep dummy :) ).

pretty funny. to me, the script seemed a lot stronger than royal tennenbaums. but like royal tennenbaums, things slow down a bit much about two-thirds of the way through. bill murray is hilarious. cate blanchett is a godess. a good film.

as a sidenote, this is the second movie i've seen in the last two months where the picture was not framed properly -- evident by some of the movie's text appearing off the screen. a projectionist is getting an ass-kicking next time this happens. :X

andersons weakest so far, but mediocre anderson is still better than 90% of the crap out there. i loved willem dafoes character " your team A " !!=D

I like how he lingers at 2/3 way through a movie. It's very cool and decedent and fulfilling.

I've got the criterion one ;)

I can't wait to pick up the soundtrack--

1. Shark Attack Theme - Sven Libaek
2. Loquasto International Film Festival
3. Life on Mars? - David Bowie
4. Starman - Seu Jorge
5. Let Me Tell You About My Boat
6. Rebel Rebel - Seu Jorge
7. Zissou Society Blue Star Cadets/Ned's Theme Take 1 [Take]
8. Gut Feeling - Devo
9. Open Sea Theme - Sven Libaek
10. Rock & Roll Suicide - Seu Jorge
11. Here's to You - Joan Baez
12. We Call Them Pirates Out Here
13. Search and Destroy - Iggy & the Stooges
14. Nina de Puerta Oscura - Paco de Lucía
15. Life on Mars? - Seu Jorge
16. Ping Island/Lighting Strike Rescue Op
18. 30 Century Man - Scott Walker
19. Way I Feel Inside - The Zombies
20. Queen Bitch - David Bowie

Don't know why sigur isn't on there!!! :X

I don't know fruitfly, I didn't like the film as much as I do now when I first saw it. Give it another shot?

BTW to all of you that have the criterion DVD check out Mark Mothersbaugh's interview. He explains, in pretty clear details, what he goes through to put the scores together for Wes. Mark's pretty neat throughout the interview except for his strange tendancy to grope his Pug).

Oh yeah, interesting tidbit, "Let Me Tell You About My Boat" at the beginning of the film is actually a palindrome of "Scrapping and Yelling" from The Royal Tenenbaums. :)

Just for you, I will try to watch it again, though I don't think it'll be for a while. :)

Just saw it last night and I LOVED IT! Hilarious, whats up with everyone carrying around glocks ? The whole 'feel' of the movie was just great, easy pace, great characters, an overall fun time for me. Three stars.

I liked this film even though it's quirky for quirky's sake. Willem Defoe once again owns every scene he's in. It's no Rushmore nor Tenaunbahms (or however it's spelt).

This did get better on a second viewing so who knows, I may end up loving it, but i doubt it.

I loved it.

LOVED IT. =D

Totally awesome movie, Bill & Cate rocked it, Willem Dafoe - no words can convey, LOL!!!!, just a grand cinematic experience, I love it. :)

I absolutely loved it. Best movie from owen wilson and wes anderson yet. If you are not a fan of all their movies, then you probably didn't like this one either. I picked up the soundtrack and it is great as well.
