the dude who brought at least one semi solid actioner (danny the dog) as well as the two transporter films is trying to wipe the smirk off of ang lee's face.

contrary to popular opinion, i love the way ang lee fleshed out what is basically the most single dimension character in all of comic books.

anyway, i like the cast in this new one. i'm not too fond of the idea that they're pitting the hulk against his most powerful villain so early in the fledgling movie franchise.

time will tell how this works out.

How does Edward Norton actually get these parts?

The guy's about as interesting as a cup of cold piss.

I just don't see how his whiny, nasally tones will convey the loneliness of Bruce Banner.

ed norton can eat kittens and african orphans for lunch
cuz he's ed fuckin norton

i hear he is the new marlon brando
or so he apparently tells everyone.

apparently

Judging by the cast and trailer, I think it will easily be more interesting than the first snoozefest.

But, it will probably turn to shit in the last 30 minutes.

Also, the Hulk CGI still looks kind of silly.

i dont really think the hulk was the most single dimensional character in comics... considering banner and the hulk were two poles of a single personality that kind of kills that whole criticism right there.

BUT, i don't see this movie being either the critical or commercial success that batman and iron man will be. i'll still watch it, though.

oh.... and ed norton was good in fight club, rounders, american history x, and primal fear to name a few.

Primal Fear was the shit! One of those rare movies that was almost as enertaining as the book.. I saw the previews for the Hulk in the movie theatre a month ago.. Looks kinda "bleh".. could be residule thoughts from the first movie though..

I agree. I saw this tonight at an advance screening. Here are my thoughts:

First, let me just say that it's way better than Ang Lee's version. It starts off with him already having been the Hulk for 158 days/5 years (continuity error there, big time!) He of course gets into some trouble fairly quickly, which is good, because the movie is only really watchable during the action sequences. The story and especially the romance falls flat. There is one cute scene - the obligatory sex scene, but because it's PG-13, they handle it in a funny way. As with most superhero movies, the villian is WAY more badass than the good guy. The cgi has definitely improved in the last 5 years, this Hulk looks light years better than the last one. It suffers a bit in the beginning from Cloverfield syndrome - you can't really get a good look at the monster. He's running by too fast, it's dark, he's far away, etc. That gets better about halfway in though.

My favorite part are all the little fanboy nods. Stan Lee has a great part, Lou Ferigno is in it, they use the Hulk Smash, Stark Industries, SHIELD and Nick Fury are mentioned, and oh yeah, TONY FREAKIN STARK is in it!!!!

I think this movie will suffer from being sandwiched between two fantastic superhero movies, it definitely cannot compete.

With the 4-star rating here, I'd give it 2.5.

Ummmmmm, you forgot to carry the one. There are five stars. So, does that mean 3.5?

Oh wow, I've always thought it was only 4! lol

No, I wouldn't. Definitely 3 out of 5.
