1) Its long
2) Its great

I saw it this holiday and was fascinated by it.

could have been edited down a little, but still a great film.

The boring scenes were overcome by the good ones by far.

I was talking to one of the actors in this, and he said he had a great time making, it and said there was at least one scene with him that was cut. Hopefully I can see him get shot it the head on DVD or something.

great performances all around too.

matt damon does a really good job of playing everything low-key and understated.

alec baldwin made the perfect shadowy g-man.

I forgot that I was watching angelina jolie. she played a very believable character.

john tuturro was great.

I liked deniro's almost cameo role.

I would have liked to have seen more of joe peschi though.

I walked out of it. Well I had to because my friends couldn't follow it and they were my ride. Of what I saw of it, it was pretty good. Damn boring in a lot of scenes. I guess I'll have to wait to rent it on DVD since I'm not going to pay another 9 bucks to see it. I liked Matt Damon's character even though I hate Matt Damon. Other people walked out other than us though.

Yeah, the people I saw it with were abit "WTF is going on?", a good primer of CIA/cold war history makes this film alot better.

Also the characters did not show much age. That was frustrating.

I was deeply engrossed the whole way through, I never had a problem with the length of the film. Damon was great, very cold, very calculating. Supporting cast was stellar too. John Turturro was great in the "Truth Serum" scene. I laughed my ass off. I won't spoil the surprise. Jolie was very transformative, but I don't know if she was the right choice for the role.

Boring, lousy characters, no real point. Really weak and disappointing for DeNiro. He should stick to acting.

Everyone leaving the theater were very disappointed. I like the historical aspects of it and believe people should watch it for that, but if you want to be entertained, go elsewhere.

this film was majorly overlooked. strong characters, strong character development, rich visuals, and outstanding performances. the movie doesn't get overly preachy either -- when it really could have. there are pauses in storylines, which some might find distracting, and their isn't much action either. but the photography and direction are fantastic, and themes like trust, family, and even class distinction, keep the whole thing interesting for those who can be patient...

Ditto. Saw this on HBO the other night and it was time well spent.
PS. I agree 100% with the post above mine!

Pretty good, but I really wasn't expecting much before I watched it.
