ill proll go see this one. H1000 was OK. and i'll leave it at that. i love the fact that zombie brought back some classic actors from way back (SID HAIG!!) but it was hard for me to tell if he was paying homage to, or ripping off/copying stuff i've already seen dozens of times. i felt like the whole subteranean thing was complety bitten from Texan Chainsaw Massacre 2. is that a bad thing?? I dont' know. i can sense that he's paying tributes to his favs and i dig that, but i wish that there was a little more of his own personality in the movie. guess i'll have to see this one to see what i think.

Perpetual Indulgence, I'll have to agree with you. something inside of me felt sad for the family at the end. almost like they fought such a good fight for nothing. hmmm... if nothing, Mr. Zombie knows how to make this girl feel bad for a psychopathic deranged family... something not a lot of directors can do.

I viewed this movie last Sunday and enjoyed it. I also thought that some of the CGI could have been done better but it wasn't a big deal.

I do have a question about the timing of the film; When the original film finished, Otis did not have a beard and had just finished killing Don Wills (Denise's father) and Sheriff Wydell. Assuming that this small community would notice that the sheriff is missing; how long is the gap between the first and the second movie? I missed the first five minutes but I don't understand how Otis could have grown a full long beard in the time it took the other officers to investigate what happened to Sheriff Wydell? Did I miss something?

I thought it was a great film...good entertainment. I wanted carnage and I got just that...I thought the acting was fairly decent. Although no one really had accents from Texas. Otis (Bill Moseley) was a bit smarter/more eloquent than I thought was needed...

On morality everyone was evil, there wasnt a morally good character in the film , maybe innocent bystanders...Bill Moseley's hero monolgue is fun.

I was amazed that it was filmed so well. Kudos to the DoP.

It was actually funny, too. If you like sick and twisted humor.

I'd like to give Berardinelli a nice fuck you on his review. He sounds like a really "fun" guy, maybe he should have been 30 years younger and seen this flick, silly old fart bag. What, he thinks Citizen Kane was the highlight of American cinema? A load of B + W boring trite poop. :p /sarcasm!!!/

I think Devils was more relevant to the Now than Kane could ever be.

I'm reconsidering my opinion on this movie being better than the first one. I saw House of 1000 corpses twice before seeing the sequel, and both times wasn't that impressed with it. But I watched it again last night, and listened to the entire directors commentary. I hung on his every last comment, and would have probably sat there for another 2 hours if he had kept on talking. He's fascinating to hear explain shit, and knowing all that went into making it gave me a lot more respect for what he had put together. I'll be really curious to hear about all the stuff that went into Devils Rejects when that comes out on dvd.

I'm bumping this back up to let anyone know who reads it that the guy who played Tiny died :(

I really enjoyed House of 1000 Corpses. But whatever it was I liked about that film was severely lacking here.

I think house of 1000 corpses left me feeling fairly disturbed throughout, I was generally rooting for the characters to die quickly so as to escape some more horrific fate.

The only part of this film that left me feeling uneasy was when the brother was fondling the mans wife with his gun.

Other than that I'd have to say it was a fairly bland, unengaging film. And the Clown character wasn't nearly as humourous in this one :)

The family on the road just had nothing on the family in their natural element on their turf.

THIS MOVIE WAS HORRIBLE

seems like rob zombie gave up on this movie.....just so bad

I really liked this movie, more so than 1000 corpses. I don't havce intricate reasons why, it just seemed more "bad ass" than the other. I love the screen work of this movie, and the music is sweet too.

I have always been under the impression as there's no such thing as a perfect 10, but Baby might be the closest I've seen in a looong time. 8o Good lord she is smokin!

3 stars

You should lower your standards some. That way you'll never be dissapointed.
