Overall I gave it 4 stars. Good movie. Lots of good previews too. The Day The Earth Stood Still! AGG! I want!

The previews were nice!

The Watchmen!

Twilight! (I'm reading this book now)

"How about a magic trick?"
"why so serious?"
"I believe whatever doesn't kill you simply makes you... stranger"
"See, I'm not a monster...I'm just ahead of the curve."
"I want...I want my phone call. I want my phone call"
"Kill you? I don't want to kill you! What would I do without you? Go back to ripping off mob dealers? No, no, you... you complete me. "

sorry i got a little carried away @Naptown Wicked lol

My only problem with it (besides being unnecessarily too long) was that the Joker should have had more quotable one liners. That's what made Nicholson's Joker so great.

Add some great one liners to Ledgers Joker and he would have been perfect. He didn't say anything memorable. Which is totally unlike Joker, even in the comic books.

"This town needs an enema!"

I don't personally think one liners are important and the Joker didn't need any more.

However just last night I was eating dinner with my sister, and a friend commented that she was frowning an awful lot and that she should smile more, so I turned to her and said in my best Joker voice "wanna know how I got these scars??" and she started laughing.

one of my favourites is something like
"I'm like a dog chasing cars, if i'd caught one, i wouldn't know what to do with it."

=D

i did love this one:

"I believe whatever doesn't kill you simply makes you... stranger"

and:

The Joker: See, I'm a man of simple tastes. I like dynamite...and gunpowder...and gasoline! Do you know what all of these things have in common? They're cheap!

and this was my favourite:

Gambol: [to The Joker] Give me one reason why I shouldn't have my boy here rip your head off.
The Joker: How about a magic trick?
[pulls out a pencil and sticks it upright into the table]
The Joker: I'm gonna make this pencil... disappear.
[Gambol's thug walks over to kill The Joker, who pushes his face into the pencil and kills him]
The Joker: Ta-daa! It's... gone! =D

(ok, i know the last one isn't exactly a one liner, but in my defence: :p)

yeah that's a great one, but i've been saying that for years, well without the word "simply", just as i heard it spoken by trevor goodchild (aeon flux).

Very clever. It reminded me of the alternative Shining trailer that someone made a while back.

Found this tonight as well - just had to share in this thread. :D

Though 4 1/2 would be better, I rounded it up to 5. This is an improvement in every way over "Batman Begins" and every film before it. Like Nicholson, Ledger's Joker steals the show, though I think their performances are apples and oranges. FWIW, as outstanding as Ledger is in this role, though, I still think Nicholson's will outlast his

In any event, this is the rare flick that lives up to the hype, and I'm already plotting who I'm going to drag off to see it while it's on the big screen. :)

bill the butcher was one of the best film villains i've ever seen. which batman bad guy is anything like him?
