Wow i can't believe you guys liked pitch black, i thought i was the only one. How did they intergrate Diesal into the prequil?

I'm sure this could've made some better bank had Vin not gone the way of XXX. Talk about trash.

I liked pitch black but i couldn't wait for Chronicles of Riddick to end. It just dragged on and on. And fighting all the way through, with way to many characters and the viewer not being able to connect with any of them. Except for Riddick of course. It is the crapest movie I've seen for a while. I give it one star. The only bit I liked was how it ended where Riddick (the loner) becomes the leader.

I gave it three stars, but just barely.

I felt kind of lost during the movie--I didn't know when I saw it that it was a sequel to "Pitch Black"--and found Vin Diesel's character to be a tougher clone of "XXX". I also thought the ending was something ridiculous. But I liked the premise, humour, and F/X enough to keep my interest, though none of the fight sequences were worth writing home about. The fact that I didn't see "Pitch Black" enough to fill in the gaps was also a factor I took into account in rating it; if I had seen it, maybe I would have liked the movie better.

<<Anyway how is it they manage this when I believe its 700degrees when the suns out on the planets surface without getting fried or their feet at least burnt off? Or When the sun has reached them all they have to do is hide in the shade behind something.>>

I personally thought that was a cool sequence, but it did raise similar questions in my mind. How was the air breathable? A planet that hot would redistribute its heat pretty efficiently; not to mention the fact that I could never tell how long the "day" on that planet lasted, or if it had one face locked towards the star (in which case there wouldn't be a "sunrise" in the first place). But then again, nobody goes to sci-fi movies these days for science; that went the way of the dodo after "2001."

I dunno what the hell is wrong with some of you, Riddick rules!!!!!! Ive been looking up and it looks like a second game is going to come out, and probably a second movie. Vin Diesle said himself, that Chroincles of riddick should be a trillogy. The next movie will involve Riddick and the Underverse, and the third movie will involve riddick dealing with his past and Furia. Im soo excited, ive seen all the riddick movies, including dark fury, and ive beat escape from butcher bay soo many times I cant even begin to count.
keep em coming :D

I watched this before I watched Pitch Black. I was pleasantly surprised, since I don't usually jump at the chance to watch an action movie. Vin Diesel is my new crush :) I love most Science Fiction though, so I think that's another reason why I gave it three stars.

I liked them both, primarily for the character(s) and imagery. Plot? I wasn't too concerned. Storyline? Whatever stitches the scenery together. Dialogue? Shut up and kick ass.

I liked 'em. Couldn't bring myself to watch the animated 'tweener; just hung up on animation < live actors. My problem, but there you have it.

yeah, the space rebel theme is hard not to love. for what pitch black was, it carried itself pretty damn well and even though i enjoyed chronicles, it would have fared better exploring the rebel theme with a grittier, more contemporary style plot instead of plopping vin diesel of all people behind the helm of some operatic fight for the fate of the universe. i would have been content watching him play off against the mercs for the whole time instead

I loved the movie, but I also love the entire series. The creatures in Pitch Black were really cool and Riddick was such a badass in the chronicles of riddick.
