Yea America's rating system is completley irrational, we can show a women's breast getting cut off but we can't see it getting kissed, but the original reason this movie got a NC-17 rating is not because of the oral sex or full on puppet sex (they have plenty of both), but the puppets shitting on each other. . . lol

good movie....very funny.....although i find the movie too be a little uneven....some jokes are fucking superb, whilest some fall flat on their faces (the spewing scene for example, over the top and over worked)....still for fans of south park or just crude satire fans in general, this is one to watch..

I laughed a few times, but the novelty of watching puppets wore off rather quickly.

I would normally find any liberal bashing comedy funny, but this movie was just terrible. It would have been funny to me if I had never seen anything from Parker and Stone, but I had such high expectations for this movie that it just didn't cut it. In an election year, political humor is all the rage- I think these guys rushed to get it out and the final product suffered because of it.

Fuck yeah....

Fucking hilarious. I laughed so much I almost got hiccups.

Will be buying this on dvd, because I missed so much the first time round by talking about how hilarious bits of it were. You'd just get over laughing at one bit and you've already missed something else subtle.

Goddamnit though: I can't get that song out of my head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just don't understand why I think it's so horrible, and you all seem to love it so much. I truly *hated* this movie, with a passion. What gives ?

WHAT IS GOING ON HERE ? Am I missing something ? What in the fuck is funny about durkadurkadurka muhammed durka?!?!

^ It's called - "A Sense of Humour".

It's funny because it is so ridiculously stupid that it becomes in fact a sort of genius. Like a Leslie Nielson movie.

I'm in the "disappointed" boat.

I just bought it and was extremely dissapointed. The sex scene was the only one where I was actually laughing out loud.

I guess I just didnt get it or find it interesting at all.

Theatre of the Absurd ;) exactly. You've got to look at it with a bit more of a relaxed attitude maybe?

And I love seeing americans making fun of themselves and their culture.... Which is really what they're doing the whole way through. I don't know how some of you found it dull? I know the sentiments weren't original but it was so funny because of the deadpan delivery.... this ridiculous saga is being played out with utmost "sincerity" which of course makes it all the more absurd = thus funny. And the waterfalls of cuss words coming out of these innocent looking puppets' mouths.... a lot of "no, he didn't just say that" moments. Yeah it's school-boy gutter humour but it's fucking funny (see, now I can't help swearing) :D But it was far from just say, an Adam Sandler film, because the crudeness was interlaced with some clever references to movies... politics.... actors.... (as you'd expect). Just cool.

Technically - when you watch the behind the scenes bits - the production of the whole thing was a lot more intricate than you'd expect too.... huge respect quota for the subversiveness of actually going "backwards" to marionettes in a world of Digitally Enhanced Animation.

ps. My favourite scene was when they took off "Face Off" trying to make the actor hero into an Iraqui. Cue detailed surgery, concentrating faces, graphs... montage of operating teams etc..... Then the transformation is complete. We see the final result. He's exactly the same only with bits of fake hair stuck (badly) to his chin and eyebrows.=D

I have a 'sense of humor', I just didn't particularly find this movie amusing in the slightest. For you to say that I *don't* have one simply because I didn't find the movie hilarious like you did... Is pretty lame...

durka durka mohammad jihad!!

That would be like 911 times 100. Yes. That's right. Ninety-one thousand, one hundred.

If you said you'd never die, I'd fuck you right now.
I will never die.
cue most humourous sex scene ever.

Matt Damon!!

Oh dear, I could keep going... there are so many classic quotes :) I giggle everytime that I think of them :)

I need to rewatch this... which I will do fairly soon :) the dvd is unwrapped and ready ;)

CB :)

^ It's become a post-going out tradition, with mates on a friday night to watch this after we get back from the club.

I think I've seen it around 7-8 times :)

Still hilarious...

Do you have any idea how fucking busy I am?

Sorry, psychetool I was only joking. I understand we all have different tastes :)
