i guess i can't append much to the title. i hate what those snobby schmocks on imdb.com usually babble, so i'd like to hear some bluelighter opinions.

I'm surprised this got no responses...

I saw it a week or two ago and thought it was great. Well... it's exactly what I expected (and wanted) it to be - Stiller and Wilson goofing around, some hot babes, a great 70's vibe and it's got Snoop in it. It's not going to make cinematic history, nor is it dreadful... all in all - a good popcorn flick.

agreed. for what it is, it's thoroughly enjoyable. i saw it twice and do not feel cheated. will ferrell's short scenes are worth the price of admission alone.

"two dragons..."

I dunno, it's a weird film, one one hand they are trying to make fun of the 70/80's "buddy cop" movies but don't take the satire far enough, on the other you could think this is a serious movie. Neither approach works very well. I'd give it 2.5 out 5 stars .

;)

I'd say this is a definite rental film. It was fairly humorous, but not quite as laugh out loud funny as, say, Zoolander was. As Crazeee says, it is not pure comedy and tries to add a bit too much plot for my taste.

I have to go with Curious Yellow on this one: Will Ferrell makes the movie....as per usual. That dude is genius.
Plus this kid I went to high school with is in a dance off with Ben Stiller in it. He goes by the name Har Mar Superstar, and he was a total goof back in the day in Minnesota. Guess some things never change...

You know Har Mar Superstar!? He's a god!

I saw this flick a week ago, and laughed my ass off pretty much the entire time. I don't even like Ben Stiller's style of comedy, and I can't stand EITHER Wilson brother... but I still laughed hard enough to consider this movie a classic comedy. Snoop Dog was PERFECT for his part of Huggy Bear...

One of the biggest attractions for me with this movie is the fact that I grew up in the 70's watching Starsky & Hutch on TV. You have to know the pop culture to get A LOT of the jokes in the movie too... if you have no idea who wrote and performed "Don't Give Up On Us Baby", you don't get the joke when Wilson breaks out into song with the guitar. This flick not only spoofed the TV show, it spoofed the entire 70s culture... and did it rather well in my opinion.

Love it. Awesome 70's feeling! And Ben Stiller is just so damn funny, Owen Wilson is cool too, very good movie I thought, great stuff!

Saw it last night. i'd recommend it and it is funny but not quite as good as i thought it would be. The scene where starsky eats the "sweetner" made me laugh if purely for the fact that its so unbelievable!

Hilarious. Loved it.

WHen Starsky ate the sweetener it was fantastic until he started hallucinating. That was rather annoying and I suppose just Hollywood catering for the drug-free people who assume any drug makes you see cartoon characters.

Before that though when he gives Owen the guitar was gold..

"Play play play play play Hutch play"
then he looks fucking intense and evil for just one second..
"PLAY"

as soon as he takes the guitar he sits down all cross legged and bouncy.

had me in tears.

Loved it.
