Is it just me or am I the only one who has seen this film!

It is alice in wonderland for the 21st Centuary!

This is by far my all time favorate tripping movie! Beautiful Cinematics, wonderful plot metaphors.....

I've found this film is best viewed on a reasonable dose of 2C-i. Not that I'm advocating drug use. The patterning on everything was increadable! I'm sure that I can see things in the film that are only unlocked by this phen.....

Drugs are bad, kids!!!!

No this film is amazing, that director uses alot of old fashioned animation, great ideas, amazing story, it literally transcends you to another world and different cognitive system. This is by far one of my favorite movies of all time.

2 p-mo: I once watched this movie fading on 60mg of AMT, i guess that passes for inebriation :))) Once again, this movie is hauntingly beautiful in more ways than i can express using words.. I really want to get to one of the places like this and there cease existing... seamlessly
 
i haven't watched this as yet, but caught grave of the fireflies the other day (which had some of the same production staff), which was quite good...especially considering when it was made.

i definitely intend to catch this sometime soon - the animation looks amazing :)
 
I saw it a couple of months ago in this great little cinema in London that re-runs stuff that has gone out of the big cinemas. I loved it :)

It's out on DVD at the end of the month here... gonna get it the day it comes out I reckon.
 
I liked everything up until that corny line at the end, where her dad talks to her about her new school... and she goes "I think I can handle it" (the joke is that she can handle anything after what shes been through)... totally threw me off and left me with a desire to roll my eyes, however there were alot of amazing things in the movie.

I saw it at the dollar theatre in Salt Lake City... sober. I want to see it again when I'm not sober, it's going to be trippy.
 
It's a witticism appropriate for a child. In another 30 years perhaps the child would have the refined sarcasm of George Carlin.

Last time a child under 10 told you a joke, how perfect was it?
 
I have seen this movie many times. The last time I watched I was rolling. When the blue Studio Ghibli intro came up I decided to put on some Oakenfold-Traceport.

People this will blow you away. I don't know if he had this movie in mind when he made the album but damn. It ends before the movie is over but its a wild ride during it. super intense. check it out.

Just rented this and found it absolutely brilliant!!

Absolutely beautiful ,colourful and vibrant animation and highly imaginative to say the least!!
The story itself reminded me of all the old classic fantasy/adventure stories I adored when I was a child (and still do adore!): The Never ending story, the dark crystal, and even the labyrinth, all spring to mind!! Maybe even a whole Alice in Wonderland feel to it.....Despite these *very* loose similarities, however, it is HIGHLY original and unique. Full marks to the director, he has an extraordinary imagination.

I saw this film purely because of the buzz about it--I was otherwise not a real anime fan. I mean, it couldn't have been as good as they all said it was, right? Then I saw it, and was truly amazed; it was easily one of the best movies I've seen, ever. Imagine--a dream-like movie with a heart. It's just wonderful.

One of my all time favourite films. I first watched it when I was coming down and it was still good. Second time I watched it on G and had trouble keeping my eyes open, as you do. And of course, it's fantastic straight.

The thing I liked best about the movie was that it wasn't about good versus evil. The woman who represented society was doing a great service by taking in people who all had been looked down upon and marginalized and giving them something to live and work for.

The ending showed that a film doesn't have to be resolved by the total destruction of either the antagonist or protagonist, but that compromise and mutual survival are possible. The curse was lifted for the prince because he was able to resolve the conflict with a minimum of violence.
