I just saw this last night, very good flick. I thought it was haliarious too, all the shit they kept saying and doing kept me laughting the entire movie. It reminded me of a mix of kill bill and ichi: the killer, a lot better than kill bill but worse than ichi. The way the camera was postitioned many times in the movie, in a kind of "cliched" way, really added to feel of it. The only problem i had with it was only several times when it went a little over cliched, like when Dwight and Gail kiss. Other than that it's enough for robert rodriguez to be redeemed

LOL at what Willis did to the Yellow Bastard.

first I took away his weapons...

both of them.

Shit! :(
That's a long wait with the temptation of a good telesync copy doing the rounds... :D

Early June is nothing. Australia has to wait until AUGUST FUCKING 11. Initially it was set to be released on May 26, which is bad enough in my eyes, but then they pushed it back and extra two and a half months for kicks. RAH!

My brother and I are tempted to download it from somewhere, but I don't think a computer screen could really do it justice. I want the movie to punch me in the gut and that means *sigh* waiting.

Fucking Australia...

OK, I weakened and grabbed the telesync =D, remastered so it was usable as a standalone DVD instead of 3 SVCDs.

Quality was excellent on a 29" TV screen, certainly video quality is better than your usual TS owing to the fact the film is essentially B/W with flashes of colour. Audio is also very good.

The movie was fucking incredible, easily in my top 5 movies of all time. Very stylish and an excellent adaptation of the original comics
I was very impressed by how uncomfortable some of the violence made me feel :D

I'll be definitely seeing it on the big screen as well when it 's out in the UK.

I saw this movie last night. I thought it was mindblowingly great.

The plot was very entertaining, enthralling even, I found myself very absorbed into the story. Very interesting, I really liked the way it was kind of three smaller stories in one, and I thought they all wove together nicely. The actors all did a 4 star job, in my opinion..and Ill agree with everyone else who said that Mickey Roark's (is that how you spell it) character was one of the highlights of the film. Elijah Wood was creepier than I ever imagined he could be. Alexis Bledel was hot as hell..so were Rosario Dawson and of course Jessica Alba (Im ashamed to say I got a little turned on seeing her tied up and being whipped-what a freak I am). ;)

I gave this movie 4 stars. It was like nothing Ive ever seen before. Instant classic.

They should've cut the whole 1st and 3rd scene out, in my opinion. Rourke's character was awesome and should have been the entire thing.

Fuck comic books. :D

Rourke was fucking bad ass, but to say he should have been in the entire thing is a monstrosity. the character of Dwight (the guy with the prostitutes) was easily my favorite character because he actually had a sense of right and wrong, as minute as that sense might have been.

fuck comic books?!?!

I thought Marv was great, but Hartigan was my favorite character, hands-down. I've always had a soft spot for antiheroes with martyr complexes. :)

Yea i saw this a few night's back.. I have to agree with pretty much what everyone else has said. I was expecting entertainment.. and for the first time in years I have actually been pleasantly suprised to find a movie so great the first time around.

The cinemagraphics are fucking awesome.. it's VERY artistic... and it keeps the feeling of being right out of a comic.. kinda.

visually, this movie is a masterpeice, but the pacing seemed slow, especially during the last segment. loved the noir aspects though, and the violence didnt really affect me at all; it seemed too comic bookish. i liked the 2nd segment with the big beast dude the most i think

The violence is supposed to be comic-bookish...that's exactly how it is in the books. I think that's what makes it so great.

Fucking, fucking excellent.

My only regret is that I watched a downloaded version, would have been wicked on the big screen... I might even pay the ridiculous amount of money it costs to go and see it.

Once again, fucking excellent. My new favourite movie! And the cast is ridiculously hot too!

Pssssst... you're not the only freak!

Sin City easily goes into my top 5. I've seen it twice now and can't wait to see it a third,fourth,etc..... It's not a perfect movie(Micheal Madesen should be fucking horse-whipped and sodamized by Yellow Bastard for his "attempt" at acting)but the things that do work more than make you overlook it's slight flaws. I mean, damn! I never thought I would give Mickey Roarke praise for ANYTHING,but he blew me away as Marv. I never thought Elisha Wood could give me the creeps, but again, thorougly creeped out by Kevin. This movie takes all of your expectations of what to expect from it and shoves them right up your ass! Completely makes you it's bitch and you love every minute of it. Will forever be a cult classic on video. Damn,I can't wait! Robert Rodriguez said in an interview that he shot all of the stories from graphic novel to screen in their entirety, knowing that they would be cut for time, but could be added to the dvd. Why can't more directors do this instead of tacking on shitty "deleted" scenes that were cut because they were shitty?

Very true to the comic book. Great adaptation. Especially the 1st vingette.

Priest: "Is that whore really worth dying for?"

*Gunshot thru confessional window thing*

Rubber face dude: "worth dyin for, worth killin for, worth burnin in hell for...."

Plus the "got any beers" and " i got a condition" *eats bottle of pharms* lines were so perfect.

Classic!

Good movie. 2 thumbs straight up.
