I thought this film was pretty good. Much better than i expected actually. I only decided to see it once i saw that Roger Avery wrote it.
I'm glad i did.
Nothing all that scary, more eery, spooky and disturbing (as mentioned before). I think the difference between this and the game is that you aren't controlling the character in the movie, thus the connection one feel in the video game (which i've played but not very much or far into the stories) is not entirely there. Everything else that i remember of the video game is present, so the translation to film succeeded better than most vid game films.
It had it's silly moments, odd character motivations and an overly drawn out wallop of concentrated exposition towards the end that all detract from the whole, but the pluses of this, one of the more unique recent films, certainley ouitweigh the negatives.
I really like the end.
