On Tv they said it was coming out everywhere on Halloween. I would really like to see this movie, but I think I will wait and see what others think about it before actually seeing it. I am tired of wasting my money on movies that I think lok good and end up being a total waste of time and money.

Release date is officially Oct. 29 and I read that some of the guys from Nine Inch Nails scored the music for the movie. I was reading this funny interview with the director (James Wan). He screened the movie for one of the guys from NIN and the dude walked out of the movie green and asking for cigarettes. James Wan thought, "Man if we freaked out the guy from NIN we must have done something right!" LOL

Coltrane. :D

Its a mixture of crap acting from the guy who plays the doctor, and dodgy plot holes where people don't even see things right infront of their face. I can't explain more without giving away MAJOR plot turns, but suffice to say, don't waste your money.

It was mostly just a ripoff of seven. A guy kills a bunch of other people because they do "bad stuff" blah blah blah. There were a few cool scenes, but overally pretty lame.

yep, rip off of seven.........and sucha rip off of survival horror games..resident evil two, silent hill....japanese influence. Espically with some of the atmospheric music and really bad acting. I enjoyed some of those aspects. The ending got me, I was totally suprised, though it was stupid, cliche, lame now that I think about it.

It's fun, go see it

That head apparatus that girl had on was pretty crazy... that's about it tho... The camera flash scene was ok, but nonsensical, IMO. And i never suspected that person for a minute, but i don't think anyone did...Not enough clues, or maybe i was just wasn't paying that much attention..

I'm going to go offbeat here, but I really really liked it. Twisted as shit, maybe a bit like seven but I wouldn't say a complete rip off. Afterall, how many movies are based on similar stories?
And you aren't supposed to suspect that person. That's one of the very twisted parts about it. And didn't they say he likes a front row seat to all he does?
Anyway, unless you have a big screen and surround sound, this is a movie theater recommend movie IMO.

My friend saw this and said he thought it was funny as hell.
He told me about the "head apparatus" thing..sounded so sick it made me unsure if I wanted to see it.

I like scary movies like "the grudge" a lot more than movies that are just sick..but I will probably see it anyways..just rent it.

looks okay, but there is no way it could ever approach se7en, that movie was caliber

this might be worth a download at least.

this was a fun movie to see in an empty theater with a couple of friends and yell things at the screen. there is a point, about two-thirds of the way through, where it got a bit boring, but the gore and psychological suspense was enough to keep my attention most of the time. the film tried to be a bit of silence of the lambs and seven...but it does not quite work. contrary to some other opinions expressed here, the acting was good. it is a tough thing to be chained to a pipe for 100 minutes of screen time, and the two actors pull it off suprisingly well. that said, Saw is entirely watchable and, at times, even interesting. the plot twists don't exactly pay off, but hey, i sure as hell was not going to see alfie.

^ I agree with your assessment.. silence of the lambs, seven, and a sprinkle of the usual suspects too hehe. The acting wasn't so bad as much as the dialog could have been written better, especially at the beginning.

i liked the visual style.. that grimey nasty setting always appeals to me in movies, and the minimalist score kept the suspense goin, though some the music sounded too mid-nineties for a 2004 release.

it's definitely worth checking out as there's a good amount of suspense and surprises.

I loved the movie. It was definitely scary and the lighting was amazing. The plot holes were big but it was still very entertaining. Everyone keeps comparing this to SE7EV but in this film we are shown everything where as SE7EN was more of a puzzle, revealing very little about the victims.

Check it out.

i saw it opening day.. one of my favorite parts was when it showed the different techniques the "killer" or whatever had used before on his previous victims.. mentally tantilizing
