I went in to see 28 Days Later thinking it was gonna be a gore fest like the movies I love, and I thought it sucked donkey balls.
you can hardly blame the movie for being 'bad' when you made assumptions about it before seeing it.

alasdair

no, i disagree. 28 days later was absolutely great...until the second half of the movie. when the whole we're-in-the-army-and-horny-as-hell-so-we're-going-to-rape-the-women shit came into plot center. Well, the film lost my respect.
But the first half, the music, the clearing of London, etc. etc. were great.

And Saw? yawn.

28 days later did have one hell of a fucking good soundtrack. East Hastings by GYBE fit in so good with that movie.

i seen saw 2.

the movie didn't do anything for me until the last 5 minutes which were a sorta exciting like when your driving on the highway and some wrangler in front of you has a blowout because he bought firestone tires and starts swerving and rolling and going every which way and you break/swerv to avoid it.

regardless i needed to see Capote immediately afterwards to make me feel less sad about the current state of films. my opinion shouldnt be given any weight though because i avoid movies like this mosta the time, unfortunately it was my roomate's turn to pick a film.

^ thats sad to here. I was reading reviews about the film and most seem to not like it. I dont tend to trust reviews though, so i cant wait to see it for myself. The outlook doesnt look that good so far though.

i saw this last night.. and frankly i fucking loved it and would rate it on par with it's original counterpart.

Oh and i fucking loved 28 days later too. If anything made that movie interesting, it was that we saw that organized human beings could be just as horrendous, if not more so, than the zombies, in the name of "security" and "survival".

I saw this film on Saturday and I was throughly entertained. I thought the acting was much better than the 1st, and they really did pile on the blood. Lots of good twists and surprises, especially at the end, but I hope they don't try to turn this movie into the new Friday the 13th 8)

And the opening scene where the guy gets his faced smashed in set the tone for the whole movie 8o . I also thought Wahlberg was great as the slightly crazy cop.:) :) :)

I saw the movie on saturday also. I thought it was fantastic. Everything i expected it to be.

It did have one hell of a twist at the end of the movie that i dont really think many expected. I know i talked to someone about it and they predicted that twist before the movie even came out. Good call.

Anyways, the acting was much better. It also demonstrated well how people will act when in a situation like the one they were in. Most refused to work together or listen to the rules of the game, and as people kept dying, they still refused to follow the damn rules.

I loved the movie.

Just saw the new trailer 5 minutes ago on TV and picked up a few things I didn't see in the previous trailers. If this movie's going to try and throw another twist ending, I may have unfortunately figured it out already. Now I'm going to go see the film in hopes of proving myself wrong. :\

It was you i talked to. You were right.

my mistake, i wasnt even thinking. If its worth anything, you had 2 ideas, so you dont know which one it is at least. :\

WARNING ******spoilers!!!!*****

I just saw Saw II and thought it was lame. I haven't seen the first movie, but I understand the basic premise. My biggest complaint was shitty scriptwriting/editing. There were enough loose ends by the finish of this movie to weave a basket.

Oh yeah, whoever said "at least there won't be kids from the WB in it" was wrong, the fucking dumb bitch from 7th heaven plays the most pointless part of the whole movie.

A rough count of loose ends:
1.They make it clear that everyone there has been arrested, but no one bothers to try and find out how/why. Therefore, its totally not explained why half of the people in the house are there in the first place, and that is supposed to be a major plot point that ties the story together.
2. They don't show what every major player's personal puzzle is... why the hot spanish chick gets stuck in the box, why the little blonde girl is there, why the black guy is there, why that weird homeless guy is there. You know that the big guy is a drug dealer and that the girl from the last movie was a heroin addict... not really the whole story.
3. They never explain what the numbers on the back of the necks mean, or how it corolates to the story. I would guess that it is the cop's badge number or something but they just let it die.
4. They totally gloss over the relationship between John and the junkie, letting a 5 second clip explain the motivation for the entire story.

Eh, it was totally lame, but I think I'll watch the first one, everyone I've talked to has said that it was much better.

They all had the same arresting officer who set them up. Their crimes were irrelevant.

The numbers on the back of their necks were for the safe combination where the antidote was secured.

yesterday, maybe if you payed attention in the movie, you'd understand it. All of the questions you asked were answered in the movie.

*** NO SPOILERS HERE ***

Even if some of the questions were not answered (such as everyones personal "puzzle" - they didn't get to all them because maybe they just are not smart enough), that is not the point of the movie. The point of the movie is to surprise you and think "Oh damn, I never would have thought". There is so many elements to the movie, it's hard to guess what exactly is going to happen next; even if it for the most part is irrelevant.

I thought it was a terrific movie. Btw, anyone see the preview for "Hostel"??? If you enjoyed Saw/Saw II, Hostel looks promising. :)

Go see the first movie. That question is answered partly in the first movie, and partly answered in the second. I dont understand why you would go see a sequel before seeing the first movie anyways.

I thought their crimes should be relevant though, since they were all there to be taught a lesson... or at least he was trying to teach the drug dealer and the kidnapper one. I thought part of the whole point was that he didn't punish people who weren't already in some way guilty, which is why the son survived

No shit. My point is what significance would all of those numbers have if there wasn't a way to put them together. The safe combination would have needed an order, you could spend days trying to figure out the order.

I don't even know why I'm making a big deal about this. It was a lukewarm horror movie sequal, not Gone With The Wind or something. It just isn't that well put together, but to each their own.
