Saw is the kind of movie that would totally suck to watch twice because the whole appeal is basically the writters saying gotcha
i watched it a second time and it wasn't as good but was still enjoyable.
polls on specific movies are automatically turned into polls by the forum moderators. it's in the forum guidelines.IForgett said:how did it become a poll?
did a mod add that? i know i didnt make it.
dm3 said:i dont know where they would go with a sequel to saw. saw 2 will probably suck. 28 days later is like affirmative action for horror movies there is no way it could be considered better than good.
i think of 28 days later as a horror movie. am i a moron?Tech Kinetics said:28 days later and horror should NEVER be used in the same sentence!
If you thought that 28 Days Later was a horror movie, then you are probably the same moron...
Mysticalis said:Personally, I think the follow-up to Saw would've been better served as an HBO mini-series than a sequel film. On PPV Cable, a mini-series could get away w/ about as much as it did on film, and the director could go more in depth into Jigsaw's games by making each episode a center around one of his victims. At least in this method, the build-up to the finale would be worth it.

If you thought that 28 Days Later was a horror movie, then you are probably the same moron that thought Little Nicky was a horror movie as well.
Anyway, on the topic of Saw II..........
I definitely think that this is what horror fans have been waiting for a long time.
Finally we get to see gore again in a horror movie that doesn't involve cast members of the WB.

28 Days Later is a part of the horror genre. I'd like to hear how you think otherwise. If you seriously believe that a sequel to such a mediocre film as Saw is really something that horror purists have been waiting for, then you my friend, are the moron. Saw was for horror what Titanic was for chick flicks.Seriously. It pandered to the lowest common denominator of the movie-going masses emotions. It wasn't a brilliant twisty edge of your seat thriller. Any "plot twists" that it had were set up by massive misdirection. The same mindless slight of hand techniques that magicians use. Look over here while what's really going on is over here. Meanwhile set up some highly stylized, overly complex ways of killing people for the plain shock value and to help further distract your audience. The reason why no one saw the end of that movie coming was because it involved a minor throw-away character. You didn't see the ending coming because there wasn't really any way you could have. The Sixth Sense had a twist ending. The Usual Suspects... that was a twist. Respectable twists. The kind of endings that aren't based upon simple smoke and mirrors.
If you really think that any self respecting hardcore horror buff is wetting him or herself in anticipation of a sequel, you probably don't know much about horror.
adios,
