Film: S.W.A.T

Well, my usual Sunday afternoon trip to the dollar theatre landed me in a seat for S.W.A.T yesterday.
I like this movie, I really did.

It wasn't overly unrealistic, it had some neat twists, and some good gun fights.
I recommend it.

I thought the movie started off OK... but by the last half I had completely lost interest. The pro-americanness of it was kind of amusing, but you come to expect that of Holywood nowadays :)

I thought it was dry, boring, and just plain lame. The acting was campy and cliche, and character development was nil. I'd rent it if nothing else was out, but personally i wouldn't recommend this. If you're watching this at a dollar theatre, then you really get what you pay for. :)

i mean c'mon....gangsters with missile launchers? did they get that at the local pawn shop? give me a friggen break...

Ok I know this isn't really about the film but remember the midget that was calling the cops "pigs" I think her name was bridget the midget. I think she's really a porn star slash erotic dancer. Well notice how she had a lot of tattoos?? Well she was in kansas city about a year ago and was down at exile (the place where I get tattooed) and I got the pleasure of meeting her. although I don't know what her real name is she had got this psychedelic giraffe tattooed on her calf and was headed out to some strip club to dance and invited all of us down there for the show.

Another example of awful PG-13 action films that are screwing-up the action genre lately. I can't wait for this trend to end. "Lets make easily accesible violence that isn't offensive!" 8(

the anti french bias was pathetic, just another crappy movie for joe sixpack , fox news watching , nascar lovin morons from the midwest

one hundred milliiioooonnnnnn dollllarrrrrrggghhhhs!

it was average, nothing special about it. I wish hollywood would stop going for the quick buck by aiming everything at a pg audience. I want the adult back in adult film. Give me a good story with a hard R.

I didnt like this film at all so I am going to attack it without any pretense of rational thought. I make no appologies for the complete absence of reason in my argument. After all, the director made no appology for the complete lack of reason in this film.

This was among the most jaw droppingly horrific pieces of shit it has ever been my distinct displeasure to have been subjected to. It was a wonderful example of the fanatically pro American and pro bullshit mantra of modern hollywood, combining its amazingly stupid plot line with a script that would make Jean Claude Van Damme vommit into his leotard. It is one of the few dodgy action movies in modern cinema which I could not possibly get stoned enough to endure. When given the choice between watching this movie again and painful death, the decision would involve a very careful examination of the kill method, and could quite probably come down to the toss of a coin. The only violence that is acceptable in relation to this example of cinematic drivel is violence which might somehow prevent this kind of travesty from wasting the worlds supply of DVD's and popcorn in the future. There is no doubt that existance of this film has rendered the world a significantly more stupid place. It is quite possible the cultural development of the entire human race has been set back by a whole generation because of this direct attack on the integrity of film as an artistic medium. ;) :)

I'm glad someone started this thread, as the movie did actually stand out for me... only, it stood out as one of the worst action films I've ever seen. It's not that it was formulaic or predictable (who'd have thought that his buddy turns out to be the evil bad guy???) The reason it was so bad was because it didn't actually work as a story, it just came across as a series of set-pieces or scenes that were tied together to make a film.

You can imagine Jerry Bruckheimer sat in a room saying: "yeah, we'll have a car chase... oh, oh, oh, now there should be a helicopter explosion.... now there should be a truck bomb... oh, now there should be a sniper..." Ugh...!!! It was the sort of film where I become apathetic about what actually happens to the main characters as I just want the story to actually progress, rather than to be shown yet another plot "development" in the form of an exploding car.

Sorry, but it's a bullshit, ugly film.

Oh well, at least Hundred Million Dollars didn't get killed by a snow globe this time around.
