Runaway Jury

Saw this movie the other day, while I do realize it's a fictional story, it does really make you think if there are teams of people in Amercian Justice system working in similar ways to influence the outcomes of trials ? Especially in big cases such us against Pharma or Tobacco industry...

The movie was a bit far-fetched of course but still, makes one wonder...

I'm sure something like this has taken place before. Its really not that much of a far-fetched idea. How was the movie though? I have read the book probably two times, but I never have had the urge to watch the film.

Don't want to give any spoilers, but I can tell you the movie is quite long (2 1/2 hours) although it does have a nice flow to it and doesn't feel too stretched. I liked the conflict between Dustin Hoffman as 'principled lawyer' vs Gene Hackman the corrupt 'fuck the american justice' character.
It is has a pretty depressing undertone of how failed and money controlled the 'democratic' justice system really is.

I need to see this movie for the completely superficial reason that John Cusack is in it.

I haven't read the book, BTW - bong420tripper, is it any good? I have read a few Grisham books.....

^ I enjoyed it. I tend to be one who enjoys the book much more than the movie, in the instances where both exist, so I would suggest checking it out.
