I live in portland and all the street kids really piss me off. They are aggressive and rude, make fun of you while you walk by if you have any sort of 'bluecollar' appearance. Generally a bunch of assholes that I would spit on before talking to.

Obviously this is a generalization, but stands true for the most part. I'm sure there is a couple nice ones out there, but for the most part their just trying to score money for more smack. You see passed out junkies all over oldtown and parts of chinatown, it's quite disheartening.

aggressive? i find that the homless population in portland is quite docile when compared with other cities.

what does is a blue collar appearance? are you walking around the transit mall talking on a 2 way radio while wearing a hard hat? maybe thats why you're getting hassled

Heh, no just if your wearing any nice cloths like the shit you would buy at Pioneer (tommy, bananna, AE, ect) they are gonna give you a hard time and talk shit. I have seen them get up and crazy if you refuse to give them change or ignore them, screw that. Plus it seems like their ALL FUCKING STRUNG OUT, I mean shit ~ who wants to get hassled by junkies all day when your just out to pick up some shit at the mall or see a movie?

I don't understand why they dont join the military? then they will have food,selter,money, a JOB

uhhh... but they can't get HIGH! basic needs are food, shelter, money, and gettin' HIGH!

I enjoyed this documentary.. though I didn't think it was particularly well shot so I only gave it 3 stars.

I'm originally from Tigard, Oregon, about 5 minutes outside of Portland. Yes, there are a lot of homeless people there, but it doesn't even compare to where I'm at now: L.A.
