I did not get to finish this DVD last night but so far....WOW! I can't wait to go home and finish it.

Epic, episodic, tale of the lives of a small group of New York City Jewish gangsters spanning over 40 years. Told mostly in flashbacks and flash-forwards, the movie centers on small-time hood David 'Noodles' Aaronson and his lifelong partners in crime; Max, Cockeye and Patsy and their friends from growing up in the rough Jewish neighborhood of New York's Lower East Side in the 1920s, to the last years of Prohibition in the early 1930s, and then to the late 1960s where an elderly Noodles returns to New York after many years in hiding to look into the past.

Not many people seen this movie eh? The cool part of this movie is that a lot of the story was told without dialog.

this movie is awesome. i love it because it shows these guys whole lives from childhood on. havent seen it in awhile but recomend it to everyone.

Yeh it's a great movie. It's pretty long I think? 2 DVD disks if I recall correctly. Totally worth it though. Great storyline. I'd sort of consider this to be a part documentary about how the mafia grew in New York.
