So I was wondering if anyone has seen the above mentioned film and what their thoughts on it were.

I had incredibly high hopes for the film, and my expectations were completely met. It is somewhat difficult to give a synopsis or review for the film because in the most basic manners it was utterly brilliant. What I mean was the film was so basic, basic like our lives are in a day to day sense.

There was nothing flashy about it, nor did their need to be. It was, for me, one of the most realistic films I have ever seen, with the most realistic situations, emotions and people.

It was so touching, and at times so completely hilarious.
I saw in each character complete ruin and desolation, and complete joy and hope in what life has to offer.

"You think you deserve this pain, but you don't."

I still wish to see the film for a second time. I think upon a second viewing I will be even more reached by it, possibly understand it even more. I hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as I did.

I absolutely fucking loved this film. One of the best I've seen. Like you said, it's difficult to articulate why it was brilliant, because the things it dealt with were so simple. It was just really, really good. Leaving it, I felt wonderfully at piece with the world, and the rest of my day was one of the best I've had in a while.

I would also like to mention that the film was very well put together technically. It was very pleasing visually, and the soundtrack (the thing that, in my opinion, makes or breaks a film) was ace.

If you haven't yet seen this film, I strongly encourage you to do so.

film: Me And You And Everyone We Know

I thought this was a fantastic film, and it's in my favorites for the moment. I'm suprised there is not a thread here...
what are your thoguhts?

Loved this movie. One of my absolute favorites of all time. I thought the story was captivating, the characters were abso-fucking-lutely lovable, and the little boy, Robbie, played by Brandon Ratcliff, was so good.

This movie, IMO, combined a love story and comedy with some gritty 'realness' that really hit the spot.

(and BL's search engine sucks ass.:P)

I just jumped in here to say how much I miss orri páll dýrason's posts. (I'm pretty sure her handle didn't look like that, weird? :\)

Also, this is a great movie. I especially loved the shoe bit.

This is one of my favorites. I've been searching for a DVD for ages here in Thailand, but I've come up empty. It's something I need to add to my collection.

))<>((

I don't have that much more to add except that I enjoyed this film, there's some good child acting in here.

^Thanks:)

I keep coming back to this film. It's one I can watch literally hundreds of times and get something new from every viewing. Everyone should see it IMO.

For you fans, I highly recommend Miranda July's (writer and director of this film) book, No one belongs here more than you. Easy, simple (but not really), short stories read a lot like her film plays.
