Film: Matrix Revolutions [super merge] (trailer, predictions, spoilers, discussion)

All I can say is that I am so disappointed with this film that I can't be bothered explaining my feelings fully or read all the posts in this thread. I'm sure I will get round to it eventually.

Basically, I am disappointed because the orginal question was never answered ... "what is the matrix?" I mean how can Neo feel the code or the machines? It would have probably been a good (not great) if they did at least attempt to do so ... but no.

I'll get back to reading all the posts here, but at the moment I have to get about six hours of shut eye so I can go to work this morning. :)

I think you are absolutely fucking spot on. I'm well glad I read your post since it answers the questions I came out of the cinema with just now.

As the Architect says "It is the function of the One to return to the source" At other points in the movies it says that obsolete programs are returned to the source... So, the machines have Neo jacked in, and they also simultaneously control the source...

In other words, Smith uploads into Neo(as he has with everyone else), but the machine connection uploads him into the source, and his code is scattered and he is destroyed.. That is the physical explanation of what happened..

^^^ Thats alot along the lines of what I was thinking. My take though Is Neo holds the missing part of the code need to continue/rebuild/reboot the matrix. At the end Neo took smith's virus code, and the returned to the source. Alowing the matrix to continue/be rebuilt/re booted. Or at east thats my take.

As most have stated, I was left with a feeling of being incomplete in knowing ANYTHING! I felt they just kind of had this big war, and that you are supposed to think everything will be mutual for a while, and then something else will happen. There wa snever any character closure (except for Neo and Trinity, who both aparently die (for good?)) I didn't want the movie to close with the architect, for they never really explained anything about him. Unless you count that 5 minute fast speech his gave at the end of Reloaded. They just threw so much in the second two and then didn't conclude any of it. What about the werewolves from Reloaded, and the twin ghost things with dreds!!!!

I felt the movie was one giant battle scene, lacking any sort of dialogue or breaking point.

Not convinced about those at all... :\ Interesting interpretation, but like a lot of these essays that are around, he seems to reference bits that suit him and rubbish other explanations without good reasons.
