Personally i liked the bit where Sam Rockwell wiped the phone on his ass, and the chemist told Nic Cage he was taking drugs for period pains. :D It is a fun movie. Not one of Ridley's all time classics, but I found it worth watching.
 
Finally saw this. HBO has been good to me lately.

A bit different than his last few projects, but definately enjoyable. Everyone is searching for same thing, be it McDonalds employee or Con Artist. :)
 
This movie was pretty lame. It was so bogus how everything fell together. If you get past how bogus the movie was, then I guess it's somewhat enjoyable.

The whole plot/ending ruined the movie. Other than that it was a cute flick. Nothin more.

i liked how the plot twisted. all i really knew going into this film was the info blurb about how a con artist meets his daughter and it chanes his life. i just expected him to get over his 'issues' or whatever and have a happy ever after life... boring. so i was surprised when the con on the con man was being revealed.

what i could really do without is all the sappy happy crap in the end.
he didnt need to see her. he doesnt have to have the cute little happy wife he picked up from the market with the baby coming and the shitty job he has been reduced to but thanks to wifey and co. he is more than happy to be in.
leave that crap off. leave him crying in a ditch, thanks.
 
I liked it very much up until the finale which kind of dissapointed me. Still a good movie though, two stars.
 
It's a good, entertaining movie. Nothing more. Solid acting, stylish visuals, nice story. I'd lump it in the same category as Ocean's Eleven; an entertaining con caper about smooth-talking conmen doing what they do best. It is 2 hours of pure, unadulterated diversionary entertainment. I did kind of feel bad for Cage's character. I find myself very attracted to Alison Lohman, the actress who played his daughter; I have a thing for baby-faced starlets. The impact of her character lent a touch of human sadness to an otherwise mindless movie.
 
yeah, good entertainment. not great. nothing really special. had a chuckle or two. 3/5 = 3/4
