this very well could be the cutest film ever made based solely on the trailer. anyone else waiting for this or seen it? if you havent heard of it, go to the home page for the movie below and watch the trailer....i have a feeling this is going to be one of the best nature film documentries in a very long time.

I guess if it doesn't have special effects and super heroes, or blood and violence, mixed in with sex and drugs, and Maroon 5 playing the soundtrack, most people won't go see it. . .

Wow! I can't believe I managed to sit through the schmaltzy trailer and actually still want to see it. Must be Morgan's God-like voice.

When I watched the trailer, I thought, "who gives a fuck?". Apparently people do.

My girlfriend cried, three times when we saw this movie. I thought it was simply the best movie to come out all year, and it didn't have any "stars" in it (Morgan Freeman narrated, he wasn't on screen).

The plot is simple: Follow empire penguins in Antarctica around for a year and document the observations. What is amazing about the film is the emotion you see in the penguins. You see very distinct signs of love, sadness, jealousy, and determination.
These animals go months without food, they walk 100-150 miles in a year, and they endure temperatures of -70f with winds up to 80mph. And this is all just to have a baby chic.
You think going into combat war is hard? Nah. Try living a year in this animals life.
Really though. if you don't appreciate the wild, the unkown, or the natural beauty of this world, then don't see this movie, it's not for you.

P.S I was really stoned when I saw this movie, and The cuteness of the penguins, especially when they slide on their belly, makes it impossible not to have a giggle or two. Or in my case, multiple times.

this is a very adorable movie. lots of excellent nature photography and fantastic close ups of antarctic life. the storyline follows a year in the life of the emperor penguin.

It was cute, but I wished there would have been more information to go along with the cuteness. I had many unanswered penguin questions.
