I had to stop watching this movie after about 30 minutes. The characters were annoying and I wouldn't have known it was supposed to be a comedy if I hadn't have known beforehand.

I just seen it as another movie that relies on odd and eccentric(annoying and unfunny) characters. I'll toss this on the heap of sideways and wes anderson's shit.

one of the best movies i've seen in a while. the full range of emotion and situation is fantastic.

It's a really awesome film, with great casting and writing. There are some very funny parts, but it's also a touching movie that examines lower middle class life and contemporary family dynamics without being cheesy, clichéd or stupid about it. .

they werent lower middle class dude they were obviously pretty well off .the dads a big guy in a white collar job, he wears a suit with a cell phone and shit, he has to meet "Clients" and they get take out for dinner every night? that aint no lower middle class thats some solid , maybe uper middle class shit man. just pointin it out....

I hadn't heard anything about this film until a few days ago when it seemed like everyone I talked to had something to say about it. I'm definitely planning on watching it tomorrow.

=D=D

this has made my list of all time favortie flicks. it's definately one of those movies that's best seen in a theatre. the entire statement of the film is so refreshingly true & the chemistry between the characters is just brilliant. i even enjoyed the soundtrack so much i went out & bought it.

BTW the biker guy isn't a pedophile... IMO he's at the pageant just to support his daughter and obsessed wife, and most likely listening to some ball game, which he has $ on, through that ear piece. That's why once the dance scene ends there's a delay before he cheers (probably due to him hearing his team win or making a good play).

He doesn't want to HEAR the pageant. He is interested in LOOKING. I still think, judging by his facial expressions, pedophile not a father.

Cute, sweet little film. It was definately enjoyable and had interesting characters. Im not sure why its gotten SUCH the praise it has (I dont know if its really oscar worthy, but thats just my personal opinion), but its definately very good.

I really enjoyed this. It kind of reminded me of that film One Night at McCool's, in that the whole film is a set up for that one giant joke at the end.

I laugh every day, but I smiled so wide at the end of his that my face hurts. Top film.

excellent film, just popped it in for a second viewing. everyone in it was just soo damn good. and i think toni collete is so uglysexy. she is fabulous in everything.

edit...lol.forgot what a douche the dad was :D

lo...no he doesn't have a job, he is trying to get people to invest in his thang.

they are lower middle class.

dude this movie was so deep for me.
when the kid found out that he was color blind and couldnt become an air-force pilot.
the only time i saw that movie i was realy realy high and i had previously gotten into a huge fight with my parents, and i was at my friends house like a few hours later in the dark depths of his basement watching this movie. that scene was so important for me, i like this movie a lot and its on my netflix que so i can see it all the way through sober, but im too lazy to return any of my fantastic movies i have now.

Unlike most people, I didn't love this movie. Liked, sure, but loved? Nah. Great cast but the dialogue and the general pacing of the film just kinda irked me. If I wanted to see a play, I would have gone to the thea-tah.

Idont understand the hype over this boring-ass , not humorous movie. Steve carrell's charachter was a boring , not funny Cliche' self hating gay. Ugly little not funny girl.
That shit where the van-horn wouldnt shut off at the end. Irritating.
NOT FUNNY OVER_RATED PIECE O' CRAP. I would think people on this board would hate commercialized bullsit like this that the whole crappy movie swallowing American public has crammed down their throat. The majority of this plastic Country we live in loved this movie..........:| This was one of those movies I couldnt wait till it was over......

Little Miss Sunshine

I don't know if as a greenlighter, I can't do the poll thing, or if I'm just missing it, but either way... i just saw this film for the first time since theaters, and it truly blows my mind. It is such a well written film. It's unbelievable.

Every character is flawed. Every character is redeemable. The film very quickly and effectively establishes the relationships among a very complex set of characters, and each develops and continues to develop throughout the film.

On top of that, you get a real strong sense of what's not seen or said in the film; the circumstances behind each character's development. It's several layers deep - each character is fundamentally affected by each other character in profound and idiosyncratic ways (for the most part). Subtle storylines are vignetted. The major storyline twists and turns always in unexpected ways; and the ending is appropriately touching, and, really, the only way i would want a movie like this to end.

PLUS, the cinematography (those vistas with the bus!), editing (the first fifteen minutes are unbelievably well placed), sound design (love sufjan stevens), direction (the movie is filled with tiny gems... touchés... especially in the final act), all of it - the production value is top notch.

And, it also happens to be really, really funny. With great performances all around. Man. I would be proud to have had any part in the making of this film.

the film left me teary-eyed and feeling really great. Movies like this inspire me in so many ways.

But you may feel differently. Go on.
