they werent lower middle class dude they were obviously pretty well off .the dads a big guy in a white collar job, he wears a suit with a cell phone and shit, he has to meet "Clients" and they get take out for dinner every night? that aint no lower middle class thats some solid , maybe uper middle class shit man. just pointin it out....

The father is a hack motivational speaker trying to get someone to publish a Tony Robbins style self help book.

This is a great movie. Initially when I saw previews for it, I expected it to be another family car trip caper like National Lampoon's Vacation but I was pleasantly surprised. Alan Arkin stands out, but the cast did a great job.

Little Miss Sunshine is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The only positive about it was the grandpa and then they had to kill him off. The beauty pagent scene is one of the worst scenes in movie history in my opinion. Im not hating on this movie just because its quirky but because I think it is a bad film with extremely bad writing.

Dammit can't wait to see it either - buzz abound on this one, mostly good but a few bad eggs out there; my GF's mom just checked it out the other night and highly recommended it as one of her favorites as of late, so indeed it seems I must track it down tomorrow and view it for "meself".

I loved this film because of its realisum (sp?) which lacks in most US films, very refreshing.

If you like this realisum (sp?) check out UK films. I think i like films like this because i can relate to them more

I just saw this for the first time last night. Everyone in it was great,IMO. Greg Kinnear's character made me want to punch him in the face everytime he used those stupid steps of his to cut someone down. Especially his little girl. He did redeem himself at the end,though. And while the ending was a little uncomfortable to watch for me,

I completely loved the point it made. These little girls are up there dancing,most half naked. It was like a peodiphile's wet dream. Yet,it was acceptible by the crowd and judges. It's only when Olive just straight out turns it into a stripper routine,that they react the way they should in the first place.

Those pagents are completely fucked up. Steve Carrell and Toni Collette were great,as always.

Iunno....i thought it was funny at times.....but i cant stand that kiddie porn pagent shit. i couldnt even watch it. fuuuuucked-up.

I think that was one of the film's motives, to show how fucked up that stupid kiddie pageant industry is.

I liked the film overall. I thought it was quirky and amusing with a lot of good dialogue. And you can't beat a grandpa that sniffs heroin! He had the best rationale for using too...

I also think the name "Olive" is really cute. I wouldn't name my daughter that, but maybe if I get a female dog or something.
