This movie seriously suck balls, im a sucker for epic war scenes and this movie just didnt deliver.
incredible film. im a huge midevil history buff and i absolutely loved it. it was very non-hollywood, diddnt appeal to the consumer base en masse, and was particularly non cheesy. Excellent portrayal of the templar's savagry and the saracen's 'civilry.' Quality summation of a time with no innocents. Only thing I would have liked more would have neem to see some of the muslim's cities and palasaides and fuedal lands, simply for the compare/contrast of architecture and culture, and some groovy cinematography.

This movie actually had a whole hour left on the cutting room floor. That may explain the rushed feel in the first half as I was lead to believe most of the things were taken from this part of the movie...
It was good and I enjoyed it, but I had problems with a couple of things...
1. Orlando Bloom cannot be a blacksmith. He is not BIG enough.
2. Orlando Bloom can not give inspiring speeches. He is not MANLY enough.

Very good movie....things i disliked abt it
1. Orlando Bloom becomes a knight, but who taught the blacksmith to fight ?
2. His morals for the greater good bugged the hell out off me, which eventually leads to war.
Things that are good
1. Excellent story (apart from the morality off Bloom)
2. Way the fighting was depicted very typical off warfare in those times with the use off catapults and large wooden towers.
Overall excellent film....
On a side note that film is based in half truths off history and really opens the eyes up to the christians and battles that have began for centuries and is still occurring today. It displays the christains not in the best off light with the pope ordering the slaying off thousands off muslims....and today modern warfare such as terrorism still occurs....in the name off religion
