did you just watch it? I see 1 or 2 new ratings up there (think I'm the only one who voted '5')

I gave it a four, excellent film, except for all the repetativity, where it goes into slow-mo sound, a little wierd and over the top. Still I'd recommend people watch it and other documentaries, people need to see whats really going on in the world. The majority of people don't believ in this shit, but the people that do are so self-empowered, its dangerous.

It is in my opinion the most terrifying film ever made. No serial killer or fucked up monster type thing can ever top reality.

A@E does the best indie films always classic. These people are crazy and I thought Alabama had some inbred religous nuts I need a vacation to missouri

lol!!!!!!! It's weird tho, because their kids have these signs too, and you'll see kids holding signs about fags, or 9/11, when the kid is clearly too young to be able to even grasp the concepts of the signs.

That's half the reason I'd love to go to their protests, I'd be hitting on every single one of their men so hard it wouldn't even be funny!!!! (am I alone here? I mean I wasn't exaggerating, I'd *pay* to get into a protest area of theirs!! If you read the westboro baptist church's wiki page, you'll see how it seems like no matter what happens to these tards at their protests, the courts almost universally side with whoever attacked them. It's like the friggin springer show, only in real life!)

Most of my extended family lives in Topeka and he probably one of their biggest problems. The kids you're seeing are mostly his grandkids. He's brainwashed most of his original children to fight for this "cause" and thus carrying on the hate to his children's children. My parents went to school with one of his kids and said that he seemed pretty normal. I know a couple of his children have become completely estranged from the family. I can't imagine how hard life is for them.

Very well put!

I was surprised to see this thread bumped, did you just see the film? I was surprised because, last night, I mentioned watching it again to my fiance. We kinda decided not to, but I wanna see it again (own it, only watched 1 time). The problem with that flick is, it's more than a movie/doc, if you catch my drift. The feeling is like you don't know whether to laugh or cry, it's friggin intense. Every time I wanna watch it, it's usually b4 bed (when we usually watch movies), and I really don't fancy watchin that right before sleep lol!

on that note, just in case people hear the name and don't connect with who you're talking about, it's these wackos in the pics. And yeah, it's insanely f'd up, but, luckily, it seems to be a family cult more than anything, I haven't heard of them recruiting much, if any, members from the outside world to their twisted take on shit!

I had to turn it off half way through it really disturbed me, and I have seen many disturbing films and documentaries. I plan on finishing it, but want to wait a bit. It was done well though.

No, I just re-watched it the other night. Every time I watch it, I see more little things I didnt catch during earlier viewings, and it just gets scarier.

i found it particularly funny when the lady (becky) was saying that more credibility has been brought to christinity since gwb has been in office....what?!? if anything, knowing that bush is a christian has made ppl doubt the religion lol in my opinion.

oh and i also love how the parent praises his daughter for approaching a stranger and telling her that jesus has her on his mind. he says, "way to be obedient." and he was serious!!

I rated it a 3 stars... the only reason for this is that I don't feel they were nearly harsh enough on the christians who act like that.

Kudos to the directors for exhibiting the radio host, who is a prime example of an intelligent, small-town Christian fundamentalist. The documentary gains credibility in this regard by narrowing its critique. It might have been tempting to stomp fundamentalist Christians in general, but the directors instead focused on the indoctrination of children. The results of this layered and sensitive approach is a film that more people on every side of the religion debate will be able to appreciate, which is the only realistic way to combat this problem.
