From the wonderful creators of the cult TV show Spaced, and Shaun Of The Dead, comes this interesting looking new film.

Plot summery taken from comingsoon.net

The eagerly anticipated second feature from the co-creators of 2004's award-winning sleeper hit "Shaun Of The Dead" is a contemparary action comedy. Police officer Nicolas Angel (Simon Pegg) is London's top cop. This tough law enforcer is good at his job-so good, in fact, that he makes his colleagues look bad. As a result, his superiors "promote" him to the village of Sandford, where all is garden parties and neiborhood watch meetings. Partnered with Danny Butterman (Nick Frost), an oafish but well-meaning young local cop, Angel struggles to adapt. But he just can't...untill a series of grisly "accidents" indicates that foul play is afoot. Suddenly, this seemingly idyllic town is a case that Angel has to crack-hard

There's not many films that seem to grab my attention these days, but this one looks like it'll be pretty amusing. Especially if their previous work is anything to go by. Please discuss...

Oh wow, how did I miss this? My ears pricked up when I heard the words 'Edgar Wright' on the radio just now, and they were talking about this film.

Although I'm gonna have to leave it till Thursday so that's 4 for me.

You going to see it, TG? Anyone else?

I dunno if I can be arsed to go and see it really, Felix. I seem to lose interest in things way too easily these days :\

Hehe, I sincerely hope you appreciate the work I just went to here, dude. :)

Maybe most of these guys aren't well known in the US, but trust me, this is an awesome cast.

What you need is a nice young gentleman to take you. I would totally do it but unfortunately there's that whole 571 mile difference problem. :(

Much as I love you, I'm not shelling out on a plane ticket for that. :p :D

jeez Timothy Dalton was on there and I didnt even notice man I am such a cunt somtimes.....That was quite a detailed post there, more than I expected it to be! But equaliser hell no!

Awww, you're a sweetie, Felix *BIG HUGS* :)

EDIT: BTW Felix, thanks for that very extensive actor identification list. Atleast some people can be arsed :|

Just to add to Felix's commentary, you might have seen these people in the US in the following shows/films.

He was also in 24 Hour Party People in the lead role.

Was also in the BBC version of "Merlin" (with Sam Neil in the title role). Whitelaw played his mother. If you haven't seen it, you fucking need to. That two-parter was fucking made for tripping. I have trouble watching films when I'm tripping, but it's the perfect trip accompaniment.

^ Nice one. I think I'll have to wait till next week before I get to see it. I've enjoyed seeing all the clips on the telly this past week or two, it just looks so hilarious.

What we need here, if the mods can put their crackpipes down for a second, is one of them poll thingamajigs. %)

^ Sorry to hear that. :(

It would be great if you had a POLL to register your dissatisfaction. :|

I STILL haven't seen it, FFS why not???

Hmm... I'm going to have say I was fairly disappointed. Saw a reasonably advanced screening last night, my g/f is a big big fan of Spaced and made me see Shaun Of The Dead (which I liked) but this didn't do it for me.

Maybe I was on my rags or something last night and just in a bad mood but it was only really mildly funny, the story I thought was pretty awful actually and the last thirty minutes left me wishing it would end soon.

In fact, the entire premise of the moofie just turned me off from the start and I was pretty bored most of the way through.

OMG!! the download just finished tonight, and so I've spent the last hour and a half watching it... now I admit I've been drinking a bit tonight, but goddddddddddddamn I laughed my ass off. Don't expect the cleverest of plot twists (or my spelling), but be prepared to use your old movie recollection. About a hundred parody jokes, even including a King Kong scene out of nowhere!

But then, i absolutely loved Shaun of the Dead too, so I was well and truly prepared to laugh before it started. :)

4 1/2* =D

Yesss I loved it hilllarious, didn't think it was quite as good as shaun of the dead untill the last 30 mins or some came in, fukin brilliant =D =D. oap fly kicks all round
