I just got back from seeing this. I didn't see a thread about it so I figured I'd start one. I wasn't sure about this movie as I hadn't seen much promotion for it, maybe only a couple previews but I really liked it, I thought it was hilarious!

=D

I'm gonna be seeing this one soon with my Lady

what would you give it out of 5 stars??

I gave it 4 stars. Not the best movie EVER or anything, but me and my friend laughed consistently throughout it. Steve Coogan is funny as fuck. He is the weirdest most random person ever. I haven't seen much of him before and at first I was just like WTF who is this dude? And wasn't sure what to think of him but by the end I loved him.

This movie is totally goofy but it also had an important underlying message about freedom of speech which I thought was pretty awesome. :)

Steve Coogan is one of my favorite actors. If you have the means, you should find his television work from the UK: "I'm Alan Partridge" and (the far superior) "Saxondale".

^^
I'm willing to bet he says that because his exposure to Steve Coogan is limited to movies like Hamlet 2, A Night at the Museum and shitty Jackie Chan adventure flicks. He wouldn't be saying such things if he had seen more of his work.

Coogan has been a leading man for decades... just not in a whole lot of feature length films.

Yeah, his film history is less than stellar. He did a great job in 24 Hour Party People, which was a far more dramatic role than what he is known for.

His television and comedic roles have always been great. Particularly Partridge and Saxondale.

The man really knows how to flesh out a character while keeping it funny. Unfortunately, his film roles have been pretty limited to two dimensional buffoons.

I just got back from seeing this movie 2 minutes ago.

It's a good feel-good movie. I'm happy that after being a household name in the UK for 12-15 years, Steve Coogan is FINALLY starting to break in Hollywood.
Compare that to Ricky Gervais and Sasha Baron Cohen who broke big in the UK and spilled over to the US rather quickly. Not to diminish Gervais and Cohen's talent, but Steve Coogan has had a much more difficult journey to international stardom. And Gervais and Cohen never had to fake an American accent!
Now if only Chris Morris were to break big stateside. But is the world ready for Chris Morris? God knows I am....
But I digress.

LOVE Steve Coogan, fell in love with him in 24 Hour Party People, I really love his voice and he's a brill actor. I want to check this flick out too, glad to hear its pretty funny.
