film: Ghost Rider

i would love for it to be dope, but i have such low expectations. just like daredevil, take an amazing character with such potential and turn it into a shitty box office embarresment.
 
I think it will be better then Daredevil because I laughed at Ben Assfleck being Daredevil.I don't know a lot about the story of Ghost Rider but I'll still see it.
 
daredevil and elektra were two characters, who if done correctly, could have been big screen gold. not to mention the kingpin of crime and the supporting character of ben urich. the movie they made around these well written, multi-layered characters was utter crap, the special effects sucked, and the acting was wooden if i'm being generous.

i'm afraid it will be more of the same with ghost rider. nicholas cage is a hit or miss type of actor, and i just think that he isn't right for this role. i liked him in leaving las vegas and snake eyes, but i dunno....

marvel should slow down the rate they pump these films out because if they oversaturate the market with schlock they could dry up their most lucrative revenue stream.
 
Daredevil crap is exactly what i thought while watching this trailer. ^but i like hulk.
 
I like The Hulk as well. More Ang less Stan. I think I liked it for all the reasons most people disliked it.

Ghostrider looks fairly generic and nondescript. It most likely won't do too well at the box office. I'm really burned out on superhero movies as is. Unless there's something unique or intriguing about the story or the cinematography/direction I tend not to get interested.
 
I predict that the ghost rider movie will be about as popular as the punisher.

from the previews, it looks like it'll be worth watching just for the special effects.
 
The Punisher wasn't such a bad comic book movie. Ghost Rider holds a special place in my heart and this could be such a GREAT movie if done well. Flamehead has been rejuvenated as of late in the comics world, and they could use some of those bad ass storylines for this movie as well.
 
Wait... please tell me you are joking about The Punisher movie... I can agree with the ORIGINAL punisher movie from like early 90s that was the fucking dope shit, but that new one with Travolta ? I have tried to watch that movie 4-5 times now and have NEVER managed to make it through without falling asleep!

Anyways, I did really enjoy the Ghostrider comics but Nicolas Cage as the main man puts me a little bit ill at ease. He is a great actor i'm just curious what he will do with this 'superhero' role.
 
Just came home from seeing this at a free sneak preview. I have never read the comic and was totally unfamiliar with the story, so I really had no expectations going in.

This movie is pure popcorn fluff. It should have been released over the summer. It started off very well, telling the backstory and getting you involved. When he turned into the Rider the first time, I thought, ok, you just lost me, waay too much cheese. However, once you embrace the corniness and just go with it, it was a pretty darn enjoyable ride!

I can't really fault too much of the story itself, my main gripes are with the actors. Nicholas Cage is wearing a toupee, colored contacts, dentures, and, in one scene, is digitally enhanced to look super-ripped. It's hard to get past all that fake stuff, but I like him well enough as an actor I managed to eventually. Eva Mendes is more useful as set decor than when she tries to act.

Having Peter Fonda in another biker film was genius, I love Wes Bentley and Sam Elliott is the Grand High Poobah King of All Time.

The special effects were beyond amazing. My favorite effects involve the introduction of the water spirit, and a horse. (trying not to spoil)

If I hand't had the free pass, I probably would have waited for the dvd.
 
holy shit! I didn't even realize Peter Fonda was in this one. pure casting genius.

that kinda sucks it came off rather corny to you, as Ghost Rider should be everything BUT corny. I saw some in-depth previews last night on Adult Swim, and the main bad guy named Blackheart (Mephisto's son to anybody who read the comics) looks fairly bad ass.

I will see it.
 
There are some funny one liners - mainly jokes like calling Johnny Blaze a "bonehead" and telling him to "get it through your thick skull."

i am looking forward to seeing this. i don't have high expectations of action flix, so i will probably like it. unless it is just shockingly bad.

it wasn't that bad.. could of been better, but i enjoyed it. If you're bored and like Nick Cage then go see it..

i like nick cage.. FACE OFF FTW!!
