a pill which gets him way frikkin high.
what is the pill ? or is a nonexitant fictional pill ??

Someone on imdb said they are fictional pills and that gary oldman has said so. They seemed to hit him as soon as he brought his head back down so i always assumed they were fake as well.

They are actually those pills that snipers take in the military to keep their hand steady, he takes them to calm his nevres

After reading this thread I had to watch it again last night, (Le version integral beats the theatrical release hands down).

My take would be they are a pill containing a gas/powder, he cracks the pill with his teeth (the cracking sound we hear) then inhales the gas, and voila instant high!
